Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a prestine, 1 owner, all original 1979 CB750F Super Sport! The ONLY aftermarket parts are K&N air & oil filters. This bike was purchased new in June, 1979, Washington DC. It has NEVER spent a night outside, never been dropped, crashed or spent anytime in the rain. When not in use, it was garaged, put on the centerstand & covered. This is NOT a restoration project, it's a very well maintained 22,559mi mototrcycle that runs perfect & can be ridden anywhere...it needs nothing! Yes, I do have the ORIGINAL title (Commonwealth of Virginia) in my possesion. This was the 1st year of dual-overhead cams & electronic ignition on any inline-4 motorcycle. With this particular model, Honda set the new performance bench mark for all other Japanese motorcyle manufacturers. If you know your early sportbike history...this is THE bike that gave birth to the Honda CBR series of motorcyles that still kick ass today! For those of you looking to build a big-bore Cafe-style racer...look no further than this machine. The aftermarket is FULL of modern, high quality, go-fast goodies for this bike! She runs strong in every gear and does not smoke or leak at all. There is no rust and the chrome is clean and shiny. The original seat is flawless & even the tool pouch is there too...still very soft & supple with no tears or stains. There are only 2 small blemishes on this machine. Brake fluid was spilled & not cleaned up properly so the tank has a small spot where the decal & clear coat peeled a little (looks like bird poop). Also, on the tail section, the decal has begun to bubble up a tiny bit. Not too shabby for a 33 year old bike with 22,559 miles on it! There is an American company that makes replacement decals for this bike. I will pass that & all other parts-resource info along to the new owner. This bike was not ridden for about 5 years. Within the last 60 days, the following services were done to get her ready for auction! Carbs completely rebuilt & synched / Brakes cleaned & bled / Dunlop tires w/ less than 100mi on them / Timing chain adjusted / New NGK spark plugs / New carb-vent & fuel lines / K&N air filter cleaned & oiled / Oil change w/ new K&N filter / New maint-free battery / Drive chain cleaned & serviced / Valves checked All cables cleaned, lubed & adjusted. I have put about 35mi on this bike since all of the above was performed. This bike is listed locally as well & so this auction may end without notice. Please do not bid unless you have a history of at least 5 auctions & a score of 99% or better. If not, your bid WILL BE canceled! Auction winner must arrange for ALL crating/shipping or local pick-up of this machine. I will be more than happy to safely deliver this bike within 100mi of Chesapeake, Va for $100! A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $500 is due, by Paypal, within 72hrs of winning this auction...NO EXCEPTIONS! The balance is to be paid in CA$H or cashier's check BEFORE taking possesion. No other meathod of payment will be accepted so please do not ask! Bid with confidence, as this mototrcycle is as clean & original as they come these days. Last week, in Tampa, Walnecks Classic Cycle Trader online, the exact same bike with a little more than 10,000mi sold for $6,000. It had a cheap aftermarket exhaust and a ding in the tank!? I would be happy to answer ANY questions you may have & will provide extra pics to those who require them.
