Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is an exceptionally clean 2000 Ford Explorer XLS. This Explorer looks great from any angle and is in great condition. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer as EXCELLENT. As you can see, there are no noticable scratches, dings or rust on the body. The paint shines well from any angle. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in excellent condition. The chrome wheels look good and are wrapped in off road tires. Because of the nature of the tires, they are a bit noisy and rumbly which I find annoying...but maybe I'm just lame. Tread-wise, you can probably get another year or so out of them if you like them. Check out the pictures...this is a great looking truck that is in better condition than most others you'll see that have less miles. I would also rate the interior of this Explorer as EXCELLENT. As you can see, the interior is in remarkable condition for a vehicle of this age and miles and was obviously well cared for. The tan cloth seats are in excellent condition and are very comfortable. The door panels are all clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The headliner is clean also. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work as they should. The stereo is the factory original CD sound system which sounds great. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner is ice cold. This vehicle is equipped with factory remote entry which is also working properly. The arm rest is still in one piece (most break after time). Again, this is an exceptionally clean truck. Mechanically, this Explorer is mostly good. The 4.0L engine starts right up. It sometimes runs rough and there is a check engine light on for a misfire in cylinder #4. It is hit and miss...sometimes it purrs like a kitten...sometimes you can hear the misfire. Otherwise, she runs great! I didn't see any fluid leaks and there is no smoke from the engine. The engine makes good power and accellerates easily. Out on the highway, this truck cruises very nice. At highway speeds, it drives nice and strait with no pulling or vibration in the front end. The suspension and steering are both nice and tight. The brakes stop the truck very well with no pulsation in the pedal. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Overall, this is a good looking and running truck. I would plan on a new set of plugs and wires or maybe an ignition module to remedy the intermittant misfire. It has good inspection stickers.
