Vehicle Detail

This is a car that I have always wanted to build, but I am trying to downsize. I use to own a European repair shop from 2001-2008 and this is where I started building this car. I have had many VW Bugs that were fast and very cool, but I never liked the reliability, and ride. I also wanted to build something a little different looking as well. When I started building this car I wanted it all to be new and perfect because I planned on keeping it forever. Here is a breakdown of the car: Body 1962 with a slider soft top. Body is in great shape free from dents and has never been hit in the front. The rear luggage compartment had a little rust that I cut out. I have the new section ready to be welded in place. The left heater channel will need to be replaced too. No other rust on the car. New 2” widened front fenders, 3” widened rear fenders, rear apron, bumper brackets, H1 headlights with hi-output blue bulbs, headlight brackets, and rear teardrop tail lights. Chassis This is a 1969 IRS, ball joint pan. I stripped this pan down to nothing. Removed both pans and welded in 2 new ones and painted the whole chassis. I replaced every nut, bolt, bushings (urethane), and grommets. I installed a new petal assembly, master cylinder, all brake lines, steering gear, 4” narrowed Puma beam, with drop spindles, front disk brakes with Porsche pattern inserts from CB Performance, rear Roto Hub race strength disk brakes with ebrake with Porsche pattern inserts. Installed full air ride 4 valve system from Airkewld with compressor, air tank, gauges and controls. All air lines are custom installed trough the tunnel so they do not have to be seen. It can raise and lower the car about 10” within seconds. It works awesome. Porsche 18” Turbo Twist Aluminum used wheels. 8” in front with new Continental 225/40/18 and 10”in the rear with new Continental 265/35/18. Engine and Drive Train The engine is a new rebuilt 1984 Mazda Rx7 13B 4 port rotary that has been completely built to hilt from Hayes Rotary out of Washington with a Stage 1 Street Port and all other high performance upgrades. This motor should put out 195 HP and run at 8K RPM all day long. I have the book that has all the upgrades when built if you are interested. New Camden 7” supercharger with all pulleys, oil lines, and 2 Holley 600 cfm carburetor, one that is vacuum controlled, and one that is mechanical. It needs a new manifold to match the 4 port for this engine. With this supercharge you should get between 35-50% increase in horsepower. That would make this setup between 265-292 HP. It will fly in this super light weight bug chassis, considering all the weight transfer to the rear. The hardest thing will be keeping the front end on the ground. Rebuilt 1974 tough single side case transmission with a Super Diff Kit installed. New KEP Engineering engine adapter kit with race clutch and pressure plate. New axels with cv joints. All new wheel bearings front and rear. Fit and Finish New Gt wood steering wheel, one piece window kits, dash gauge kit, sound dampening material, firewall, all rubber for windows, doors, body seal, and bumpers. This car just needs finished being put back together and paint the body. I have over $13K invested in just the parts and it would cost over18K to go and buy all of these parts new. I am sure that I have missed a few items or details, so feel free to contact me if you have some questions or want more pictures. As much as I love talking about this car, please only contact me if you are interested. Here are few links that can give you more info on some of the components that I used. http://www.airkewld.com/parts/products.php?cat=79 http://www.camdensuperchargers.com/index.php?pag=402 http://www.cbperformance.com/ Thanks, Steve 541-760-4490 rivervalleyproperties@gmail.com
