Vehicle Detail

This is a NO RESERVE auction! Auction is for a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 car (TRUE SS CAR) that is mostly complete and running with clear title and vehicle registration good until 4/22/12. Original 396 engine is long gone and has been replaced with a rebuilt 350 cubic inch motor (Block ID#: 3970010 with engine pad code: "CKR"), TH400 automatic transmission with original numbers matching 12 bolt posi-traction rear axle (rear axle code: CCF dated K129, which corresponds to a 3:31:1 posi-traction). Engine sounds good, but exhaust system is very loud and could use replacement to lower exhaust noise. Body panels appear to be original, however, will need a significant amount of restoration due to previous body work repairs and panel rust throughout. Original GM flapper hood has significant rust and bondo work (flapper is not currently operable), non-A/C vehicle that came from the factory as an original dark green paint exterior with black interior. Floor-shifter and console car, however, console light, interior lighting and all gauges are not presently operable. Original green-faced gauges with 5,500 RPM Redline tachometer (gauges not working). Original black mono dash-pad is in very good original condition with no cracks. All windows appear to be clean and good condition with factory tinting. Rear body panel between rear window and trunk lid is severely rusted and will need replacement. Rear quarter-panels are original to the car but are in fairly rough condition. Trunk-pan and trunk hinges are also rough and may need replacement/repair. Wipers, turn signals, emergency lights, brake lights, back-up lights and headlights (including high-beams) are operable (headlight switch is somewhat intermittent at times). Car has new gas tank and gas cap, new GM side-marker bezels, new Optima (red-top) battery purchased in July 2011, rebuilt front brake calipers and front brake pads. Tires are P215/70R14 Goodyear eagle tires in fairly good condition on original SS rims. Vehicle has original front & rear GM seatbelts that are very clean with newer black carpet installed. Front seats have some tears but operate nicely on tracks and fold properly. Rear seat is nice with minor tears in bottom portion only. Car will need a new headliner as the old one is falling down in the rear area. Car also will need a new heater-core installed as the original has been by-passed. Vehicle needs FULL restoration and should be thoroughly gone through prior to travelling short or long distances. Full payment by Cashier's Check only, due within seven (7) days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for all shipping/transportation charges associated with purchase and travel to destination. Thanks for looking!
