Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this car based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are encouraged whenever possible. Just email me to arrange a time to meet at my storage facility so you can see and drive this vehicle for yourself. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any known issues are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully and review all photos in detail before asking questions or placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a good looking 1996 Lincoln Town Car. This Signature Series example is finished in an eye catching black on black color scheme with chrome accents along the door bottoms. As you can see from the photos, this is a good looking car. However, it is not perfect. I would rate the exterior of this car as AVERAGE. There are some blemishes on the hood that are hard to notice and a few small scratches on the trunk. Overall, the paint looks very good. All four tires are matching and have excellent tread left. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. The chrome trim looks good all around. Please review the photos carefully. The car looks great overall but, again, it isn't perfect. Please expect normal scratches and imperfections commensurate with a 15 year old vehicle. I would rate the interior of this Town Car to be in AVERAGE condition. The black leather seats are in good condition throughout with no major flaws or signs of wear. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The switch panel on the drivers door is loose and the door pull has some minor cracks. Both power seats work properly. The power windows and locks all work (except drivers window). The power mirrors and sunroof both work as they should. None of the map/reading lights inside are working. The turn signals do not work (the stalks are known to go bad and are cheap to replace). This Town Car is equipped with steering wheel controls for both the sound system and HVAC system. The stereo system is the original factory system and still sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and responds properly to imputs. The air conditioning will need charged or serviced (not blowing cold). Overall, the interior is in decent shape. This Lincoln has some small electrical issues (turn signals and interior lights) that are common with these cars. I know the stalk is an easy fix. I don't know what makes the map lights not work... There are a full set of owners books in the glove box. Mechanically, this Lincoln seems to be in good condition. The powerhouse 4.6L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. The Town Car shares its V8 engine and automatic transmission with the Crown Victoria (police cars) and are known to run well in excess of 300k miles with proper care. I did not notice any leaks or smoke. During my road test, this Lincoln behaved pretty well. Accelleration is easy thanks to the big V8. Out on the highway, she cruises nice and easy with no vibrations or pulling. The suspension and steering are both responsive as they should be. The brakes stop this Lincoln well. The "check suspension" light is on but I haven't the slightest idea why. The car stays level even when parked for weeks without running so I know the airbags aren't leaking. If I had even a guess about the suspension light I would gladly share it but I am stumped. It has to be some little sensor somewhere. If I were the buyer, I would just drive it the way it is. Her road manners are consistant with how a Town Car should drive. However, if you are a serious buyer and the suspension light concerns you, please email me to discuss some ideas/options. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts just like it should. There are no known mechanical issues. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
