Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1949 Dodge Wayfarer, turned into a nostalgic street-driven gasser. I purchased this vehicle in all-original form, and decided to turn it into a vintage-style race car, that could easily be driven on the street. Body and paint are all original, and show their age a bit, but no obvious rust issues, and still cleans up decently. The interior is also all original, except the carpet has been taken out and floors have been coated with rustoleum, and a ratchet-style shifter has been installed. This car had a 355 Chevy Small Block and ran 11.98 @ 110, but after some engine issues and the urge to drive it more, it has been changed to a 307 V8. Now to move onto the details. Engine: 1971 Chevrolet 307 V8 - Out of a 1971 Nova -A mild Summit Racing Cam and Lifter set has been installed -New gaskets installed, and chrome valve covers and air cleaner added -Carburetor is a quadrajet on a stock-style intake manifold -Headers are 1955 Chevy fenderwell headers with turnouts running open with no further exhaust -Has a Champion aluminum radiator, with electric pusher fan installed Transmission: 1969 Chevrolet Turbo 350 -Shift Kit installed, along with a 2500 B&M stall converter -Ratchet shifter installed on floor inside of car Rear End: -Chevy Nova 8.5 10 bolt (factory posi rear) with 4.10 posi-trac gears -Original leaf springs fitted with Chevelle ladder bars and over-load springs on top of rear end. Other miscellaneous info: -16 gallon fuel cell installed in trunk, trunk also coated in rustoleum. -14 x 6 Cragar S/S wheels on front with 195/75R14 Coker Wide Whitewalls -14 x 7 Rallye wheels on rear with 28 x 8 x 14 Mickey Thompson ET Drag Slicks -Original Front Bumper also included if desired This car is a mostly original car, with an updated drivetrain and drives great!! Despite no power steering or power brakes, this car steers wonderfully and tracks straight, and stops straight and strong. I've driven this car on 300+ mile round trips with no issues at all, however, with 4.10 gears you are limited to backroads or speeds around 55 mph. If any other additional information or photos are needed please e-mail Kgeorge37@hotmail.com, or call Three Zero Four- 582-2333, and ask for Kenny. Here is a link to a couple youtube videos: Runnin 11.98 with the 355 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00XeZ4i_6Hg&feature=related Runnin with the 307 V8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_obdCoA2alo The car is currently running the 307 V8, so there is no confusion. On Aug-04-11 at 09:23:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Just an update, I have added a few more photos to show some close-up spots on the body, and here is a link to a youtube video of a walk-around view of the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm_SvHY_RaE
