Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this car based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this descritpion is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are encouraged whenever possible. Just shoot me an email and we can try to set up a time to meet at my storage facility. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any known issues are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully and review all photos in detail before asking a question or placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. This example is finished in black with gray interior and trimmed in the XLT package. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer as AVERAGE. The paint looks good for its age but is not perfect. There are some scratches and dings/dents here and there. The rear bumper has some rust and there is a very small spot of rust near the glass on the tail gate (from a small dent) but I did not see any other signs of rust which is a very good thing as far as Explorers go. There is a noticable dent in the right fender. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The tires all have good tread left on them. I would rate the interior of this Explorer as AVERAGE. The door panels are all clean and in tact. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the truck. A complete set of floor mats are included with this truck. The seats are all in pretty good condition. The console arm rest has a small crack in it. The stereo is the factory original CD player that still sounds good. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner blows cold air. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. This Explorer comes equipped with the optional 5.0L engine and AWD. The V8 starts right up and runs well. During driving, it keeps proper temperature and holds great oil pressure. The engine makes excellent power which comes in handy. The suspension and steering are tight and responsive. The brakes stop the truck well. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts like it should. There is a noticable amount of gear whine when you let off of the gas. It sounds like it is coming from the center differential. Parts are easy to come by for these trucks if you choose to replace it immediately. You could probably run it this way for another year or so without major problems (possibly longer if you don't drive it every day). This solid older Explorer has good miles and feels great on the road. This would also make an excellent hunting truck or winter vehicle just the way it is. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
