Vehicle Detail
I've decided to part with my 1965 Mustang coupe. Its a very clean, original, black plate CA car. The car has spent its entire life on the dry West coast so it has the solid, rust free floors and structure that you would expect. The car has never been cut up, modified, or messed with. I've included numerous pictures of all parts of the car, inside and out. I've also made sure to take good shots of the undercarriage and any specific blemishes that I've mentioned in the description below. The car is a fairly standard V8 coupe... no power steering, power brakes, or AC. The only options (besides the 289 and C4 automatic) appear to be the visibility group, a remote mirror, and the AM radio. Here are the original production details: Warranty Number: 5R07C200362 Year: 5 1965 Plant: R San Jose, CA Body Series: 07 2 Door Hardtop Engine: C 289 2v V8 Unit: 200362 200362 Miscellaneous Vehicle Data Body: 65A 2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior Color: F Arcadian Blue Trim: D6 White Crinkle Vinyl with Black Appointments, Standard Interior Date: 20Q March 20, 1965 D.S.O: 72 San Jose Axle: 6 2.80:1, Conventional Trans: 6 C4 Automatic More Info coming soon... BODY COLOR TRIM DATE DSO AXLE TRANS WARRANTY NUMBER THIS VEHICLE IS MANUFACTURED UNDER UNITED STATES AND FOREIGN PATENTS AND PATENT APPLICATIONS A PRODUCT OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY MECHANICALS: The car still has the matching numbers 289 (2 barrel) and C4 automatic. Both were completely rebuilt less than 3k miles ago and I have the receipts/paperwork. This was not a ring and bearing job. The carb is fresh as well. It has a brand new fuel pump and recent tune up. The car tracks straight, stops straight, and drives very nicely. The transmission goes right into gear and shifts smootly through the gears. It doesn't overheat, even on hot days. The radiator has been replaced since the engine was rebuilt. The car has a nice, throaty dual exhaust that ends in chrome tips. EXTERIOR: The body is very straight. All the shut lines and general panel fitment are good. I have run a magnet over every inch of the sheetmetal. There is not a single place where the magnet doesn't stick securely. There is absolutely zero evidence of any accident damage, panel replacement/repair, or body filler. The paint is newer but does have a handful of small chips. The rockers and the lower portion of the quarter panels have an anti-chip coating. The front and rear valances both have small dents but neither are very noticeable. There is also a small ding on the top of the passenger side fender. The drip rails are solid and rust free, as are the doors and fenders. The only real blemish would be the handful of small rust bubbles under the paint low on the driver side quarter. It looks like bad paint preparation. The sheetmetal is solid so its nothing worth dealing with until the car needs a repaint. The chrome and trim are in great shape, only the front bumper has very minor pitting. The car presents itself well and has great curb appeal. I get endless compliments every time I drive it. INTERIOR: The carpet and headliner are in good shape with no rips or tears. The front and rear seats were just redone, both the coverings and the front seat foam. The door panels are new as well. The black dash pad is perfect. The rear package shelf is new. The factory dash is uncut. It has a newer CD player installed under the dash that runs 2 speakers in the rear... good for basic tunes but nothing special. All of the door locks work and the windows roll down smoothly. The front and rear windshields are both free of cracks or damage. The doors both shut nicely. ELECTRICAL: All of the gauges work and function properly. The heater and defrost function as they should. There are no issues with any of the lights. Everything works perfectly. This is a turn key cruiser that doesn't need a thing... ready to run down to the local cruise night. Feel free to call with any questions. -Dave (916)390-3868
