Vehicle Detail
This Supercharged Tunderbird is being relisted due to another non paying ebay member (daisyduke2010leah). Please take buying a vehicle on eBay as seriously as I take selling a vehicle on eBay. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle from one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle by eliminating most of the overhead expenses associated with a retail type dealership. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information condtained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. If you would like to come see this vehilce in person before bidding, just ask. I would be happy to arrange a time to meet you at my storage facility so you can kick the tires all you want. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any know defects are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully before bidding or asking questions. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare 1990 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe. In addition to more aggressive styling, special wheels and a more upscale interior...the Super Coupe stood apart from its lesser Thunderbird siblings because of its supercharged and intercooled 3.8L V6 engine. In fact, this Eaton supercharged engine boasted 210hp and 315lb/ft which gave it enough snot to run right beside a Mustang GT. Here is a link to a page with some cool facts about these cars: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/spex.html . I've always liked Thunderbirds and the Super Coupes were just a great touring car. The one being offered for sale here is far from perfect although there are some things that make this a very desirable car. In fact, this car is worth about close to $2,000 in parts thanks to it's perfect interior (hard to find complete) and perfect wheels with new Michellins. As you can see, the paint isn't the greatest. In addition to the usual clear coat issues on the hood, trunk and roof...there is a small dent on the passengers side quarter panel. Besides that dent, the body is strait and appears to be rust free. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. As I mentioned, the Super Coupe specific wheels are in perfect condition and have a brand new looking set of Michellin tires. The interior of this car is in great condition. The fully adjustable sport seats show almost no wear and all of the power adjustments appear to be working perfectly. The carpet is clean and full. The door panels are clean and in tact. The headliner is clean and in tact. The rear seat shows no wear. It's hard to find a perfect SC interior. The stereo head unit is missing. The climate control appears to be in working order and the air conditioner blows cold! The power windows and locks both work. There isn't much else to say. Again, these interiors are very hard to find in this condition let alone a complete set. Mechanically, this Thunderbird would benefit from some TLC. Sometimes it is hard to get started and it idles a little rough when you do get it going. I think there may be two separate issues. I think the neutral safety switch (that prevents the car from starting when not in Park or Neutral) needs adjustment. Sometimes when you try to start it...it doesn't even try. If you run the shifter through the gears and back into Park or Neutral it will then start. The other issue may be a vac leak or fuel issue. It starts up slowly rather than firing right up. It idles a little choppy and breakes up over 5psi when driving. An air leak is most likely but it could also be a fuel issue. If you keep it under 5psi, this car drives like a dream. The suspension and steering feel pretty good for an older car. The brakes stop the car well but the ABS light stays on most of the time. Out on the highway, she drives great. She'll cruise down the highway at 80 mph with one hand on the wheel. There is no pulling, no shaking...just nice and easy cruising. During the time I drove this car, the temperature and oil pressure kept normal readings. These are really cool cars and I can't stand the thought of parting her out (nor do I have the time). I truly hope she goes to an enthusiast like myself. I've owned several Cobra's (a 93, 95 and an 03) along with several SHO's and a few Contour SVT's. I have an 88 T-Top Mustang GT in my garage at home now. I am passionate about these cars and hope her next owner will be also. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
