My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is correct to the best of my knowledge and experience but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Please read the entire description carefully and closely review all photographs before bidding or asking questions. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1997 Lexus LS400 sedan. The LS represents the flag ship of the Lexus line and comes very well equipped. This example is presented in two tone dark tan over tan leather interior. I would rate the condition of the exterior of this Lexus as AVERAGE. Although it does still look good, there is significant chipping on the front bumper as well as a dent on the drivers door. There is also normal wear you should expect to find on a car of this age and miles. All of the glass and lenses are in tact. The tires are a little under half tread all around. The wheels show some signs of curbing and dust. Overall, this is still a good looking car that has been driven. If you are looking for an LS that was driven to and from the salon, this is not your car. If you travel frequently and want a full sized luxury sedan for a few grand that you can just drive and drive...this is your car. The interior of this Lexus is in AVERAGE condition. The drivers seat shows some typical wear on the left bolster but is otherwise in good shape for the miles. The carpets are in good shape and the headliner is tight. All of the door panels are clean and in tact. The other seats are in good condition. This top line Lexus is loaded with features like dual power front seats, dual front heated seats, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, power sunroof and remote keyless entry to name a few. The front seat belts are power adjusted for height. The sound system is the original premium Lexus sound with cassette and CD changer and it sounds great. Some pixels are out on the display but you can still work everything easily. The antenna is broken and does not retract fully but it picks up stations excellently. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers separate settings for the driver and passenger. There is also rear heat and air conditioning. The air conditioning is ice cold and works as it should. The trunk is clean and spacious. This car is very comfortable and rewarding to drive or be driven in. Mechanically, this LS400 appears to be in decent shape for the most part. The 4.0L V8 engine starts right up and runs smoothly. I've got close to 100 miles on this car so far and it is a pleasure to drive. During my time behind the wheel, this Lexus behaves well. The engine keeps proper temperature and makes good power. She accellerates to highway speeds effortlessly and cruises nice and strait with no issues. The only thing I don't get is the power steering. Sometimes it's there...sometimes it's not. I didn't see it leaking but something isn't right with it. The suspension is very tight and takes PA roads very well. There is no play in the steering. The brakes stop the car well. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts like it should. I think a new power steering pump may be in order but everything else mechanically seems to be in great shape.
