Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on eBay, I personally road test each one so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Pre-bid inspections are encouraged whenever possible. Just email me so we can set up a time for you to come to my storage facility and see my inventory for yourself. Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any known issues are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully and review all photos before asking questions or placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is the "Night Stalker". This hard to find 1988 MR2 is not perfect but is in good condition for the age and miles. This example is finished in black with black and gray interior. I would rate the exterior of this MR2 as AVERAGE. Walking around this car, you will see that the paint shines very well from any angle. The hood is dented and there are a few small rust spots on the right quarter panel but that's about all for the bad. The paint shines great all around. It has aftermarket alloy wheels wrapped in deep rubber all around. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. This car is a testimony to Toyota's quality. It gets looks everywhere I drive it and my 3 year old thinks this car is a "cool race car" and won't stop buggin' me for a ride. I would rate the interior of this MR2 as ABOVE AVERAGE. The original seats have a hole or two but are in great shape. The door panels are in tact and clean. The carpets are clean and full. The stereo has been upgraded to a CD player which sounds good. The climate control system is working properly and the air conditioner blows ice cold air still which I couldn't believe!!! There is a complete set of owners manuals in their original dealer portfolio in the glove box, too. Pride in ownership shows throughout this MR2. In addition to the "Night Stalker" graphics, you also get a custom "8 ball" gear shifter. The front and rear trunks are clean. Mechanically, this MR2 appears to be in good running condition. The potent 1.6L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. During my road test, the engine kept great oil pressure and proper operating temperature. In spite of its small size, the engine makes good power and easily revs to its 7,200 rpm redline. The close ratio five speed manual transmission accellerates this car to highway speeds easily. The suspension feels tight and the brakes stop this little car well. The steering feels a little floaty to me which makes cornering interesting. I haven't driven one of these in at least ten years so maybe it's just me...but I'd plan on having the alignment/bushings checked out. The clutch grabs strong and does not slip. The pedal is a little tight but is easy to learn. Gear changes are smooth and precise. The exhaust looks stock but is louder than it should be. It might be aftermarket or there might be some kind of a hole in the exhaust. It's hard to tell without putting it in the air and I don't have that kind of equippment. The emergency brake needs adjusted/tightened. Overall, I think this car is in pretty good condition for the year and miles. Typically, most of these cars get beat pretty hard and have a rough life. To look and run like this car after nearly a quarter century and a quarter million miles shows that this car was taken care of throughout it's life. Of course, I don't know the exact history of this car but I would guess it was adult owned and hasn't changed hands much throughout its life. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
