Vehicle Detail

All original 1933 Chevy Sedan Delivery non-production car! This is an extremely rare find, as it's possibly the only car of its kind remaining. According to an extensive bit of research, this is 1 of 12 possible cars built by Chevrolet in 1933 specifically for the United States Forest Service. So not only is this an exceptionally rare find for being an early Chevy Sedan Delivery, but it's also equipped with features that would never have been offered to the general public, as the USFS contracted Chevrolet to build these cars only for them. Such options include dual side fender-mounted spare tires, rear side windows, rather than a panel, and better yet, those rear side windows roll down. Upon further investigation, we discovered that the car was originally sold to the public in 1959 and titled in Virginia, and the car comes with the original title from July 1959. The car is currently located in Tacoma, Washington and has been in the Pacific Northwest for a number years, as the amount of rust is quite minimal considering its age. When we acquired the car it was sprayed in a cheap red oxide type of primer, but one night the right lighting showed what really lied beneath. Using aircraft stripper, we stripped only the top layer of red primer revealing an original US Forest Service logo, hand pinstriped, along with the car number, T-2S, below. The car was originally green, and the green paint seems to be fairly intact underneath the red primer, but we haven't stripped the entire car to tell just how solid it is. All in all, the car is in pretty amazing condition, the transmission still shifts through the gears, all the panels are there, a vast majority of the interior wood finishing is there and intact, and there's a handful of new old stock and replacement parts that come with the car, including a new-condition spare tire hold-down and extra hood vents, as well as the original parts catalog and service manual. The motor is original, but at some point in the past the head was unbolted and the valves were removed. The valves are missing, but it appears that the rest of the motor accessories are still there, and the pulleys on the water pump, generator, and fan still spin free. Included with the complete car: -Original Virginia title from 1959-Original Parts Catalog-Original Service Manual-NOS spare tire hold-down-8 extra hood vents-Original US National Forest Sign (40+ years old)-2 original spare wheels & tires-A set of original front fenders (both with provisions for spare tires with mounting hardware, but no hold-down cleats) There are plenty of other details that we've left out, because quite honestly, we could write for days on the things we've found and learned while researching this car. We've been told by several local Chevrolet enthusiasts that this very well may be the only one of its kind, and unfortunately the USFS no longer keeps documentation of vehicles this old, as the car numbers are rolled over and reused once the cars are taken out of commission.
