Vehicle Detail

I have a 1980 INDY PACE CAR TRANS AM. This car is in absolutly great condition. The trans am is a excellent example of a solid rust free piece that has obviously been garage kept its whole life. This car runs, drives, and looks great. It is a piece of history that is getting hard to find. The trans am is a 4 owner car as far as I know, The gentleman I bought it from said the original owner traded it into a dealer and thats where he bought it from in ohio. The car originally came out with a 4.9 turbo with a 350 turbo tranny. Well last yr the previous owner had had a small engine fire that burnt the harness but other than that the motor is good. He had a 10th anniversary trans am as well that had a 403 olds with a 400 turbo and he pulled that motor out to put it in here to get it back on the road. I have the original 4.9 motor and 350 turbo tranny. He said the motor was running great when the fire occured. So the car now has a 403 olds with a 400 turbo tranny. The original 4.9 with all accesories that I have come with it. The car starts right up and runs great. It drives straight with no squeaks or rattles. The tires have 70% tread and are bfgoodrich radial t/a's. The trans am is equipped with mirrored t-tops and they don't leak. It has power windows and locks but the power locks don't work them very well. The audio boost works like it should on the factory delco speakers. The wipers work as they should as well. The interior shows very well, and it very clean. The dash is very nice. It does need the plastic cover on the passenger side t-top but that is available aftermarket. As far as the exterior of this beauty, the car has no rust and and paint is great. The paint is really nice with the exception of the hood where the carb fire was it blistered the decal and a small spot on the charcoal. The rest of the car shines nicely and is very straight. The undercarriage is super solid as well as the trunk and the rear valance. This car is super nice car and the only issues that I am aware of is that the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge dont work since the engine fire. If my schedule gets freed up at work I am going to try to address this but the car has no ticks or knocks and no hot starts. It also has 3:73 gears in it so the speedo is fast with the 400 turbo but other than that it is a super car. Pop out the t-tops, put them in the factory bags and cruise. Feel free to ask any questions. Car is sold as-is where is and is available for previewing prior to the auction ending. Bid with confidence this car looks as good in person as the pics.
