This is a good running bike. NO smoking, NO leaking. NO ticking or whatsoever. Front fork and rear shocks work perfect. Tires still almost new. I replaced the rear main seal, oil pump seal and changed all oils. Front brake works good (brake pads about 50%). Rear brake I don't use (but is working) Battery is in good shape and holds charge even at long running intervals (3 - 4 weeks parking or so) Bike starts instantly after long pause as well. Overall appearance is good. Seat in excellent shape. Tank has one small dent. Side covers are mounted with ty-raps (common issue). All lights and switches are working. Fairing is missing screen. Wheels are straight and only light corroded (will clean up) Frame has been touched up with brush where rusty spots appeared by previous owner. Exhaust in very good shape, headers are ok. This bike is not a showroom piece, but a reliable cheap on gas commuter and low in insurance. You can turn it to showroom condition, but it will require complete disassembling and powder coating frame. Price is reflecting this issue. The BMW R65 was a unique model with a narrow frame and heavy triple tree. Most engine parts (except for clutch) are the same as other R-series bikes from same era.
