Vehicle Detail

We have a silver 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette GLS "Mechanic's Special" for sale. It has 221,336 miles. We have a clear NY title in hand and ready to transfer. Features: Seats 7 (4 Captain's chairs and one bench seat), sliding doors on both sides (one of which is electric), Air conditioning, power windows/doors/locks/leather seats/alarm, cruise control, dual airbags, roof rack, alloy wheels, heated front passenger seat, mileage/fuel computer. Condition: This van has some wear and tear to the interior (stained carpets, CD player and VHS video system do not work, right middle passenger seat doesn't recline, glove compartment door is usable but rigged shut) There is a dent on the driver's side fender and a couple of "ripples" in the sliding door ( however they don't keep the door from working perfectly). The trim under that sliding door is missing. These things happened from backing out of a parking spot and the other from another car while ours was parked. No moving accident involved. Overall, the visual appearance of the van is fair. Oil changes have been at close to the recommended intervals. Now for the nitty gritty mechanical needs: The van does start up and run fine but will overheat if driven for too long at a time. We would have fixed it and continued to drive it ourselves but had to move to a larger vehicle when our family size recently increased to 8. We were told the problem is likely "intake manifold gaskets" (if you know something about those). We did get an estimate at a Meineke that we trust to fix the problem and were told it would cost $700.00 ($115.00 for the part and $585.00 for labor). If you are a mechanic or have one in your family you could probably get this fixed for far less because of what you would save on labor costs. We did just install a new driver's side headlight, and the brakes were recently replaced (we have the paperwork). Please email if you want more pictures of something specific or have any questions. Thank you.
