Vehicle Detail
1997 A4 Audi Quattro with 2.8 V6 and 5-speed manual transmission. This car has been in the family since new. It was bought new by my sister and then passed on to me. I can give you a complete history of the vehicle. This car runs great! However as with any other vehicle that has 177566 miles on it, it does need some work. There is some wear on the driver and passenger seats The rear seat, door panels, carpet (except right below the gas pedal) are all in nice shape. The exterior of the car is in very good shape and shows very well. There have been three very minor repairs o the body. Nothing very serious. The passenger door was hit. And, on different occasions, both the front and rear bumpers were damaged. Both were repaired and painted. In January, I replaced the battery and the tires. While this car runs great, it will need some work. First off, the water pump leaks. The car does use oil and has used oil from day one. Over the years, we have tried to get the oil leak fixed and decided it was not worth the money. The check engine light is on. The light came on just after being smogged and registered. My mechanic had scanned it and there were two codes: Catalytic converter and EGR valve. Other things that need to be fixed are the heater core leaks (I had it disconnected), the air conditioning needs to be charged. And the driver information center does not illuminate. The car is being sold AS IS! No warrantee! The buyer assumes all responsibility for having the car smogged, if you intend to register the vehicle where a smog check is required. As far as the price goes, I am not interested in negotiating down. Believe it or not, the State of California will give me $1,500 as the car sits. Unfortunately, this vehicle falls under the gross polluter category and California would just assume crush the car.
