Vehicle Detail
I have up for auction is my 1970 Ford Torino Cobra with a 429 4v with a 4-speed Hurst shifter which is original to the car. I bought the Cobra in Oct.'03. I'm the 3rd owner of the Torino. The Cobra runs great. Here is some of maintenance I've had done to the Cobra: In spring of '04, I had the front end of motor rebuilt. A new timing chain and water pump was installed. In summer of '05, the rearend had new seals and bearings put in. I also had a new distributor installed. About 2 years ago, the front brake lines were replaced. This past spring, I bought all new tires. Mechanically, the Torino runs great!!! The body does need work. The floors and frame rails are great shape. I took the best photos I could of the underneath. The bottom of the rear quarters and fenders does need work. It was repaired about I would take a guess about 20-25 years ago. It's due have some work done again. The registration and inspection is all current. I also want to mention that even though the Cobra Jet emblems are on the shaker, the motor isn't a Cobra Jet. I'm sure most of you know this, but I just too make sure everyone knows this. The shaker and rear window slats were added back around 1978 when the second owner bought the car. This car is an absolute blast to drive with the Hurst shifter and the shaker out in the hood. I've been driving this way for the past 8 years and it's a lot of fun. Due to it's age, the car has to be sold "as is". The winning bidder is to pay for all shipping charges. Your more than welcome to come an inspect the Torino. I will only accept cash or bank/cashier's check. With a bank/cashier's check, the Torino will stay w./ me for 10 days after I receive payment. Anyone with negative feedback, must contact me or I'll cancel your bid. If you need financing, please get approved before bidding. When you compare the Marti Report to the Torino, you'll see that many of the options are still on the car. The color keyed racing mirrors, ribbon tach, & trim rings/ Hub caps. About the only not original to the Torino is the grill. Also, I'm not positive about mileage. It says 30430. I would think 130430, but I'm not positive. The invoice is from Marti AutoWorks. I think they call it Emminger Report. This Torino Cobra runs great and I would drive it anywhere. It's very reliable. The best thing about this Cobra is that you don't have to spend a ton of money up front. Start enjoying it now and save up to have the body and paint done in couple years. If you have any questions, you can call me @ (518) 788-8470. Also, I'm not interested in any trades. On Jul-18-11 at 19:12:20 PDT, seller added the following information: I had someone call me today and asked me about the area behind the front wheels, which is were the bottom of torque boxes are. I took some photos and added them to the auction. The passenger side is in very good shape. The driver's side does need work. The bottom of the doors are in good shape. If you would like to see more photos, let me know. Ebay is limiting me to 24 photos. I did have some other maintenance done to the Torino in summer of '05. I had a new clutch, pressure plate, pilot, & throw out bearings installed. On Jul-20-11 at 18:46:24 PDT, seller added the following information: In the payment info section, it says I'm only selling Torino in the U.S.!!! I just want to make sure everyone saw that.
