Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealer might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is correct to the best of my knowledge but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before bidding or asking a question. It is my pleasure to offer this 1998 Mercedes Benz S500 sedan for a NO RESERVE auction today. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am a huge Mercedes fan. Although driving a Mercedes can be an expensive habit, I feel they are the best built cars available. The W140 chassis represents the finest era of production in my opinion. This car comes from a time when a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard...not a price. Anyone who has driven an older one and a newer one knows exactly what I am talking about. They just "feel" different. I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes as AVERAGE. The black paint looks great and has a mile deep shine. You will find some scratches and small dings here and there as you would expect in any car of this age but they do not take away from the overall beauty of this car. The long wheelbase adds to the grace of this timeless sedan while also providing extra leg room to the rear passengers. The factory grill has been changed to an all black version but can easily be changed back if you choose. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The factory chrome wheels look great and are wrapped in matching Toyo tires. The tires have under half tread left but should be good for another year. The antenna mast is broken but does extend, retract and pick up stations. Replacements are not expensive. The windows have been professionally tinted which make this car really stand out. This S 500 is equipped with factory Xenon high intensity self levelling headlights (both are working properly). The vacuum assist is working properly. The trunk and all doors self close as they should. The headlight washer arms have been removed. Again, this is a great looking S 500 that gets looks everywhere I drive it. I would rate the interior of this S 500 to be in AVERAGE condition also. The interior is nice and quiet thanks to the double thick bullet resistant glass. There is a small puncture on the cushion of the drivers seat. Otherwise, all of the seats are in excellent condition throughout. The door panels are in tact (small crack in passenger front speaker grill) and the lighting is all working. The carpets are clean and full throughout. The power windows, sunroof, seats (both) and mirrors all work properly. The central locking system is working properly. Both front and rear seats are heated. The stereo system sounds great. The volume knob works properly (this style of stereo is known for volume knob problems). There is a CD changer in the trunk. The trunk is clean and spacious. The climate control system is fully automatic and working properly. The air conditioner is ice cold and there are also rear vents to keep the large cabin evenly maintained. The first aid kit cover and third brake light cover are missing. The drivers side rear seat venity mirror doesn't want to stay up. All of the wood trim is in great condition. Mechanically, this Mercedes appears to be in good condition. The powerhouse 5.0L 305hp V8 starts right up and runs smoothly. I didn't see any leaks. I have driven this car 100 miles and counting and I love it. During my road test, this sedan behaved pretty well. Accelleration is effortless thanks to the big V8 engine and five speed automatic transmission. The engine keeps good temperature and good oil pressure. The airbag light is on. The steering and suspension feel good out on the highway and she drives strait. The brakes are brand new in the front and stop this big car very well. Around town, you can hear a little thump sometimes in the rear suspension if you hit a hard bump but it's very minor. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly through all gears. This Mercedes has 6/2012 PA safety and emissions stickers. The miles are good at just under 100k. These cars are tough as nails. They are made to be driven and will do so for a very long time with proper care. There are no known immediate issues but please understand that owning a Mercedes-Benz is a constant investment. These cars require consistant service by specially qualified technicians. Please know what you're getting into.
