What I have here is one of the coolest cars Ford ever produced. Sleek, elegant, tough, powerful and comfortable. The 1964 Galaxie 500 XL sports roof. Black on black. This car screams American engineering and holds itself on a high pedestal. Created when style and perfomance were meshed together in a few glorious years inbetween the classic car era and the muscle car era. I'll get straight to the facts for you. The Galaxie is ready to restore. In fact, Restoration had been underway when I bought it. A 460 BB lays under the hood and connected to that is a strong C6 trans. The paint, though not original, is in fair shape, though may need to be done over. No surface rust here! The front end has just been greased, oil changed and fluids all topped off. Tires are newer with still 90% tread on them. Stock 9 inch rear with 3.00:1 gears in it make it awesome for Saturday night cruisin! All the chrome is there, as is all the glass. All new drums, shoes, and brake lines including a new master cylinder. I bought it from a man in Columbus, GA. The history of the car was lost before he got it. No idea where the original 390 is for it but the 460 seems to have been a great upgrade. I can tell you the 460 is out of a lincoln from between 66 and 68. I have records from previous repairs.
