It has all possible options by Mercedes -Benz, including: electric tilt/sliding sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats.Other options also include: power locks, windows, rare expensive combination yellow on tan, factory power antenna in the back, air conditioning system, recirculating function, leather wrapped steering wheel, intermittent wipers, power steering, power brakes, fog lights, central locking system, cruise control. This Mercedes is a US vehicle and not a grey import. It was purchased new at the dealership in the US.The service on the car was mostly performed at authorized Mercedes Benz facilities or dealerships.Oil changes were performed regularly using only the expensive Diesel engine oil and the original equipment from Mercedes Benz .The transmission was serviced using Mercedes Benz scheduled maintenance program. There are some original books and some service records available. The car is free of any known accidents or salvage history of any kind. All in all, the car is very well maintained, the miles are very low for the model year and they are highway, pampered miles and the most important thing is that you don't feel them at all as every agregate in the car was serviced regularly and if needed was immediately replaced with the original equipment, was garaged most of the time.No expense spared, the car is worth every single penny.Bid with confidence. This vehicle was the best Mercedes-Benz Diesel made ever until 1986.It is still considered to be one of the rarest and best Diesel engine luxury vehicles in the world. Make no mistake: these are some of the largest, heaviest cars around. The handling is surprisingly excellent and responsive, all things considered, with steering, stopping, and cornering poise that inspire confidence. In fact, handling and roadholding would do justice to sports sedans half their weight. Suspensions stay in touch with the road via a smooth ride that while almost floaty over sharp dips, maintains composure through just about any pavement conditions. Brakes, steering, driving position, instruments, visibility--all inspire confidence, making for satisfying long-distance operation.S class sedans boast limousinelike passenger and cargo space, in keeping with their expansive exterior size. Sedan access is worthy of members of the diplomatic corps. All these cars comfortably accommodate any size driver, before a typical Mercedes dashboard, with convenient if not always self-evident controls. Visibility is uniformly good.Impressive and big, these top-line sedans were built with evident "cost-no-object" attitude. Monumentally solid body structures make them something special. These are also some of the costliest cars around, secondhand as well as when they were new. So, it's just as well that they have tank-solid structures and superb detail finish. There was and sometimes still is an opinion that "buying a vehicle form a private owner is better than from the dealer".I want to tell you why it is a wrong opinion.First of all the "private owner" is usually not in a business of selling cars and most of the time does not understand the process to the full extent and one does not need to.Second, the private seller is not governed by any government agency or automobile-selling laws - unlike dealers, the private owner is not experienced, licensed, bonded or insured against a lot of things that he can do or sell and will not be responsible for.The private seller usually wants to sell the car ASAP and forget about you (the buyer) and your newly purchased car with faults or without, announced or not with no warranties or guarantees of any kind - unlike dealers, who want to see you happy and coming back again for more automobile needs you or your close ones may have in your life. And especially with the internet it is very important to buy from a source that is recognized by the government We SHIP ANYWHERE!!! For Buyers from Europe and specifically Holland , we have very low and set shipping rates to the port of Rotterdam and many other european destinations. OVERVIEW The S-Class has long been one of the premier luxury cars in the world. Although several Mercedes-Benz models bore the S label from the late 1950s, the first sedan family officially named "S-Class" debuted in MY1973. Since then, it has been redesigned only four times. S-Class models have long been early pioneers of emerging automotive technologies. Initially overshadowed somewhat by the 600/Pullman sedans, the S-Class became the Mercedes flagship upon the Pullman's retirement in 1980, and remains so to this day (DaimlerChrysler's resurrected Maybach brand notwithstanding). Over the years, the S-Class line has been equipped with engines ranging from six-cylinder diesels to twin-turbocharged vee-twelves. S-Class models have primarily been sedans, although coupes were sold for some time before being spun off as the CL-Class. W126 is the bodycode given to the Mercedes-Benz S-class series, produced from 1979 until 1991. W126 sales were halted in 1992 for the US market. Mercedes-Benz South Africa continued producing them for some years, stopping in 1994. The car was introduced at the IAA in Frankfurt on september 1979. Most people did not appreciate the design right away. It's appearance differed too much from the rest of the Mercedes fleet at that time. The objective of the design team, lead by Bruno Sacco, was to produce a car that was sleeker, lighter and faster as opposed to the old W116 S-class it was meant to replace. Now, over 20 years after it's first introduction, it is clear they succeeded in designing and building a true classic. The W126 remained in production for over a decade and it's design still wasn't oldfashioned when production was halted in the early nineties The decision to give the W126 a more low-profile look than it's predecessor had been based on the fact that in the late seventies owning a big luxury car was considered self-indulgent and anti-social. The foreseen fuel shortages and rising fuel prices forced Mercedes-Benz to rethink their big-engine strategies and the 'Energy Program' was introduced. The new engine line up at the introduction of the car was: · M110 2.8 liter 6-cylinder DOHC engine (both carburetted and with fuel injection) · M116 3.8 liter V8 engine (fuel injection only) · M117 5.0 liter V8 engine (fuel injection only) During later years, diesel versions followed for the US market: · OM617 3.0 liter 5-cylinder turbodiesel engine · OM603 3.0 liter 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine · OM603A 3.5 liter 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine And during the midlife update some changes were made: · M103 2.6 liter 6-cylinder fuel-injection to replace the M110 versions. · M103 3.0 liter 6-cylinder fuel-injection · M116 4.2 liter V8 fuel-injection to replace the earlier M116 3.8 versions. · M117 5.6 liter V8 fuel-injection (the M117 5.0 liter was continued as well). The original clientele of lawyers, politicians, known criminals and shady businessmen did contribute to the car.Although the W126 no longer has the interest of the original buying group, the cars will retain this luxury status for quite some time into the future. ( being helped by the fact that Hollywood film makers did their best to make use of this status in films like 'Black Rain', 'Down Town' or the 'Lethal Weapon' series. Only 6311 examples of 300SDs were built in 1983. VEHICLE CONDITION As to the vehicle condition. As you already know it is a 1983 car,but for the year and model it is in a very good condition. After you read our auction, look at other vehicles of the same year or similar and check if they offer any kind of warranty;by doing this with our car we really mean the true value. The vehicle is in a clean condition for the year and mileage of course and is presently in the state of Florida. Body. The body is in a good condition for the year and model. No easily visible defects,in our opinion it is clean for a 1983 model. There is no easily visible paint problem, and it is in a good condition, the paint looks well, though has some paint peeling imperfections in some areas. The trunk opens only with the key. The glass is in an excellent condition. All lights work and look nice. Mechanical.Mechanically the vehicle is in a good condition for the year and model. The car has some new parts, those include but not limited to:fuel filters, battery, multiple oil changes, balances, allignments, brake jobs,tune-ups and a lot of other service jobs. The engine is in a very good condition.A good power producing agregate.See warranty details in the Terms of Sale paragraph. The car was mostly serviced using Mercedes-Benz scheduled maintenance program.Overall drives very well. Tires are electronically alligned, ballanced, have about 40% tread life left on them and it has original Mercedes-Benz wheels in a very good condition. Electrical. Most of the agregates seem to work, except for the tachometer that does not work all the time, central locking may not work from time to time or always, but manual locking is working properly.Cruise control does not operate. The radio in the car is disconnected and not functional, cassette eject button is missing. The car is safe and sound and runs fine. The AC may not blow cold air,as it might be low on freon, however the heater works very well. Interior. The car is very nice and is a nice ride.Everything is in a good condition,no big rips or tears, though has some used car imperfections including the wood and chrome, the passenger power seat mechanism doesn't work.Driver's seat missing safety belt track. Real pleasure to drive, very dependable daily driver. We believe in a good service and this is another example of a good and timely Mercedes-Benz service .Not a penny spared for this beauty. Overall . Overall condition of this Mercedes is great, but there may be exterior scratches, minoe rust spots, minor dents or other imperfections not described, but to the best of our knowledge it's a very clean 1983 car that is very hard to find as to the condition and mileage. The engine that is in the car has a lot of power and operates perfectly. The car starts right up and is a very dependable fuel saving transportation.Especially nowadays when fuel prices are so high and you may have this unique opportunity to save a lot of money without losing any quality of driving. These cars usually go from 500 000 to 1 000 000 miles with these engines and still do not die. This W126 body type Mercedes is usually called an eternal car as it never dies. For the year and condition this vehicle is considered to be rare as you will find very limited choice or no choice at all when buying a car like that. This is a car you've always wanted to have- a very clean, nice, very well maintained, all ORIGINAL and COMPLETE with all FEATURES INTACT Mercedes-Benz.We personally believe in a regular maintenance and service and this belief has never let us down. There are a lot of opinions nowadays, that old Mercedes-Benz cars have more quality than the new ones, the new ones have quantities and not too much attention to the quality. If you owned this or any W126 body type car before, you wouldn't want a different one.It really looks like a 5 year old car with everything working in it. Nowadays a lot of people are remodeling these W126 DIESEL cars to run on vegetable oil so this way you can have free fuel for life.Of course you can't put it straight in and need to do modifictions, but this is the car to do it on if you were thinking of it.The used vegetable oil can be obtained at any fast food place or anywhere else where these businesses are trying to get rid of it and will thank you and in some cases even pay you to take it from them. The car will be sold with the exempt mileage as it is over 10 years old and that's required by Florida law. The car is also available for sale locally and worldwide at the buy it now price of seventy nine hundred fifty dollars. So,good luck to you all and happy bidding. Don't miss your opportunity. You may contact the seller via email at allfloridacarsonline@yahoo.com Feel free to call 727-564-8963. The vehicle is listed in the private auction for bidders' own protection,to avoid solicitation from others and other privacy related issues and also it is Ebay suggested and recommended. But feel free to contact us for more information. HISTORICAL DATA Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler invented the automobile in 1886 and, with it,changed the world more than any other technical innovation had done so before. It seems ironic to us today that Benz and Daimler ,one of them in Manheim,Germany, the other in Cannstatt,Germany, were each working, quite independently and unaware of each other,on the realization of a dream. To begin with, they were working on quite different concepts:Karl Benz relied for his Patent Motor Car of 1886 on a three- wheeled construction influenced by the bicycle.the engine, suspension and drive system formed an organic unit in his patented “gas engine-powered vehicle”.Gottlieb Daimler first fitted his experimental engine to a two-wheeled test vehicle that we know as his “motor bicycle”.A year later he fitted a high speed engine to a carriage body,so building his first four-wheeled automobile.Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz both set high standards in terms of the quality of their products. While Daimler remained true to his motto “Nothing but the best”,Benz’s slogan was “The best of all that is good”. But the two inventors would not live to see their companies become one.It wasn’t until 1926 that Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie.merged to form Daimler-Benz AG. The first car to be sold by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft was delivered on August 31,1892.It was a further development of the “wire-wheeled car” of 1889,with chain drive. The name of that first illustrious customer mat still be read in the commission books kept in DaimlerChrysler Corporate Archives:the buyer was none other than the Sultan of Morocco. The development of the wire-wheel car marked a big step forward in technical terms.Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach first presented their new model to the public at the World Exhibition in Paris in October 1889,where a Benz Patent Motor Car was also on display. In many of the construction details,Daimler, and above all Maybach, the true creator of this pioneering automobile, were way ahead of their time.Apart from the two-cylinder V-engine and the four speed variable-speed toothed gearbox, the steering system is also worth mentioning, since to a certain extent it anticipated the axle-pivot steering system that would not be invented until much later. Gottlieb Daimler ‘s vision was the creation of a universal source of power which could be used to propel vehicles on the water,on land and in the air.The combustion engine, powered purely by gasoline, was in his view the only solution that would lend itself to installation in any conceivable type of vehicle.Gottlieb Daimler was already aware of the principle of such an engine for, since 1872,he had been the technical manager of the Deutz gas engine factory, where he had familiarized himself with Otto’s four stroke principle.Following differences of opinion with the company’s management, who refused to recognize the need to develop small, mobile engines,Daimler left the company in the middle of 1882.In 1882 Daimler had purchased a villa in Cannstatt, near Stuttgart,as a place where he could work further on his ideas;a place that would become the cradle of worldwide motorization. In the villa’s extensive gardens was a greenhouse,to which Daimler immediately added a brick extension in order to accommodate an experimental workshop. He was obviously very sure of what he wanted to achieve right from the start, for he had the garden paths widened at the same time to make them accessible for vehicles.Together with Wilhelm Maybach he secretely conducted early experiments here in this shed to build a high-speed,small combustion engine. The cast metal parts for the engine came from a bell foundry. The break-through came in 1883 and, with their patents for a “gas engine with hot tube control” and covering the “regulation of engine speed through control of the discharge valve” Daimler and Maybach were to lay the foundations for the very first high-speed combustion engine. Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach’s experiments to develop the first high-speed combustion engine were conducted in the utmost secrecy, for Daimler was concerned that his ideas might also prove interesting to his competitors. Not even the staff at Daimler’s villa in the Taubenheimstrasse in Cannstatt were aware of what Daimler and Maybach were up to in the little greenhouse that they had converted into a workshop. No one else was allowed in,and even the windows had been blanked out.The gardener,in particular, became very suspicious about the strange metallic banging hammering noises emanating from the workshop at all times of night and day.He confided in the local police constable, who promptly suspected a counterfeit mint and determined to investigate.Once the gardener had had a copy of the key cut and locked up the guard dog,the over-zealous constable secretely entered the workshop in the middle of one night. But,amongst all the tools and strange machine parts,he was unable to find anything untoward.Gottlieb Daimler took the news of the policeman’s secret visit to his workshop with good humor-and even had a parody of the incident performed at a party some years later. The mayor of Cannstatt, who was present, was not amused and subsequently refused planning permission for a new factory in Cannstatt.Daimler therefore decided upon a site just a few miles away,in Unterturkheim,Germany.Which is why, nowadays, the whole world associates Mercedes-Benz with Unterturkheim and not with Bad Cannstatt. As long as 115 years ago, businessman and car buff Emil Jellinek chose the elegant name Mercedes for his third daughter. This proved to be a farsighted decision – today Mercedes is one of the best-known and most coveted brand names, radiating splendor throughout the world. The name itself, incidentally,is of Spanish origin and means “grace”. In the early 20th century,Emil Jellinek was one of the best, though also one of the most difficult customers of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft(DMG).He was a forward-looking man who took a keen interest in sports and was enthusiastic about technical progress, convinced of the future significance of the automobile. He had bought his first Daimler car as early as 1897 and demanded ever more powerful and faster cars from DMG.From 1898,he increasingly engaged in automotive business activities, promoting and selling cars especially in the highest social circles. To promote sales,he also entered cars in races, first and foremost in the Nice Week, where he competed under a pseudonym - the name of his daughter who was eleven years old at the time. The pseudonym “Monsieur Mercedes” was on everybody’s lips in the automotive world, and in December 1900,the first car named “Mercedes” was supplied. It became a huge success and set the course for the future of the automobile and,not least, for the company itself.Mercedes Jellinek herself never possessed a car in her life, but her name wrote automotive history. “The car must have a lady’s name to be likeable and attractive.” Emil Jellinek TERMS OF SALE The warranty is for 300 miles /or 3 days, covers the engine internal components and transmission against breakdowns. It is just to prove the excellent condition of this fine car.All the inspections must be done prior to the bidding. The nonrefundable deposit in the amount of $1000 is due immediately after the auction end via VISA/MASTERCARD over the phone or email, personal, company or the cashier's check via overnight mail, bankwire transfer .The full payment must be completed within 2-5 days regardless of a pick up date.In the event the deposit is not posted within the required period of time, the vehicle will be offered for sale to the next subsequent high bidder.Any storages must be negotiated before the purchase or will be charged at the storage facility's rates. In this auction I require to comply with all of my conditions in the terms of sale especially as for the deposit time frame and inspections.By placing a bid and winning the auction you agree to all of the terms of sale paragraphs and statements and the terms of sale section is to be considered a legal agreement and other sections not to.There won't be any inspections after the auction ends, please do those before the bidding,I'll be happy to assist you with those. The insured, high quality, timely, reasonable delivery can be arranged anywhere. The shipping is a courtesy to the buyer and it is not to be construed as a responsibility of any type on the seller’s side.Pickup and drop-off times are estimated and based on information verbal or written provided to a seller by a carrier.
