Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Hi there, you’re bidding on a beautiful 1983 Chrysler LeBaron Town and Country Convertible. We acquired this as part of a 10 car barn find collection; it was put in storage in the late ‘80s and remained there for over 20 years. Because of this, the car has held up remarkably well over the years: the convertible top works perfectly and is in good condition, and the upholstery is in great shape with very little wear. Considering the price at the pump these days, you might also be pleased to know the car is fairly economical, averaging 23-27 MPG in my experience. Additionally, the car just passed California smog. Updated 7/14:The Autocheck for this vehicle is wrong--the car was NOT in a junk yard in 2003. The only incident was a minor accident on 3-23-88 where damage was reported (also not listed on the Autocheck). From talking to the daughter of the original owner (Jay Stream, if you'd like to google him), this car was in CA. Most of his cars had sat over 20 years, but this one was a bit less. I can email you the much more accurate Carfax report if you'd like to leave your email address. Since acquiring the vehicle, we've put quite a bit of work into it: AC converted to 134 refrigerant. Blows cold!New paint job.Four new tires.New rear shocks.Completely rebuilt carburetor.New master cylinder, rotors, and calipersNew fuel pumpNew battery I should also note that a standard feature of this model is the early computer system that literally talks to you. When the car is started, the computer will tell you that a door is ajar--it's the only real issue I can find with the vehicle. Everything else seems to be in working order. Payment information A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of auction end, with the remainder to be paid via cash (in person only), wire transfer, or certified cashier's check (from a US bank ONLY). If the deposit is not made within 24 hours, the car will be offered to the second highest bidder. We can assist in shipping, if necessary, but all costs are the buyer's responsibility. If you have any questions or concerns, just shoot me a message and I'll get back to you ASAP. Thanks for looking and good luck!
