Up for auction is my 1981 Chevy Camaro Z-28. It started out life with the usual 350 SBC and TH-350 transmission. It now has a 454ci BBC with a TH-400 transmission. I bought the car a couple of summers ago. Until last Aug. I havn't even registered it. It just sat in my garage. I have it covered up with a car cover and it hasn't gotten many miles since I bought it. It has a strong motor that has plenty of power. Sounds real mean when at idle. I'm not exactly sure about all the specs of the motor, because I didn't build it. But it does have some nice parts in it. I was just going to keep it until I built a 496ci for it. But now I have too many cars and have to thin the herd a little bit. I do know it has around .550 lift cam in it. The heads are the large oval port 336781 casting number heads. It's got an Edelbrock torker intake with a 780 double pumper holley carb. It's got the Hooker super comp headers with dual flowmaster exhaust. MSD ignition. The TH-400 transmission shifts good and has a 3500 stahl converter. The rear end is the usual 8.5 inch 10 bolt with 3.73 gears and a posi unit. The car drives good and is fast. You can see in the pictures, the body is pretty clean. Doesn't have the usual rust in the places these old camaro's are infamous for. Kick panels behind the doors are solid. Trunk floor is solid. The only reason I even bought the car, was because the body was in such nice shape. Interior is decent. Has the usual Z-28 dash layout and steering wheel. Seats have some tears in them. Carpet is in decent shape. A little dirty, but not too bad. This car would make a great street car or build it up some more and turn it into a Pinks- all out car. The only thing I've changed on it is I took the 15X8 welds off the back and replaced them with a brand new pair of 15X10's. The back tires are Mickey Thompson ET street 275/50/15. The front rims are 15X6's with some front runners on there. The pictures are of the car when I first got it. Now the rear rims have center caps. I also added the red lug plugs to all 4 rims which makes it look nice. I had alot of plans for the car, but you know how it goes, too many projects, too little time. So I might as well let someone else take over and get some good use out of it. I have clear IL title in my name. I live in the Chicagoland area (western suburbs), so maybe if you live close, you can come check it out. Shipping will be the buyers responsibility. I will help out any way I can. I've never sold a car on e-bay before, so I'm not sure about some of the companies that ship cars. You can research them on your own. I bought the car from a guy in NY state. I rented a tow dolly and went out there and towed it home. That would probaly be the cheapest way to do it. I probaly left out alot of details, so feel free to ask any questions you might have. For payment, I'm thinking a $500 non refundable payment is due within 3 days of auction end. The balance will be due either when you come for the car or within a week or two after auction ends. We will get that set up after the winning bidder makes contact. Please don't bid on the car if you don't intend to follow through with the sale.
