Vehicle Detail
This 1989 Lincoln Town Car is being relisted due to a non paying bidder from Philadelphia, PA. Selling cars on eBay is what I do for a living and I take it very seriously. Please take placing a bid seriously as well. Let's try this again... Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealer might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this car based completely on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. If you would like to come inspect this vehicle prior to bidding, just ask. I would be happy to arrange a time to meet you at my storage facility so you can come see it with your own eyes. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any known issues are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description and review all photos carefully before bidding or asking questions. I am very excited to offer this super cool 1989 Lincoln Town Car for a NO RESERVE auction! Older Town Cars are getting hard to find...especially in this condition. I would rate the exterior of this Town Car as ABOVE AVERAGE. I am fairly certain that this car has been repainted at some point. Even though you can see and feel a little bit of texture in the paint, it is still in way better contition than most. All of the body panels look nice and strait. There are no major dents or scratches to be found. I could not find any rust on her either. The automatic trunk closer is also in proper working condition. The top is in excellent condition. The original wire wheels are in excellent shape and retain a great shine with no pitting or corrosion. The tires are in good shape all around. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in great condition. These are very special cars and include many features that one would associate with a much newer vehicle. There is even a lighted exterior thermometer at the drivers mirror. I have owned a lot of cars in my life and I get more looks pulling into a gas station in this yacht than I do in my Buick Grand National or my Mercedes V12 roadster. I would rate the interior of this Town Car to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION. I could just let the photos speak for themselves for this paragraph but I will give some highlights. As you can see, the carpets are clean and full throughout the cabin. All of the door panels are clean and in tact. All of the chrome trim, handles and buttons are in excellent condition. Both front seats are power operated and working as they should. The power windows, locks and mirrors are all in perfect working condition also. I mentioned the lighted exterior thermometer in the last paragraph but its so cool, it's worth another mention. The lens is in perfect condition and the lighting makes it visible at night. The seats are all supple and comfortable. As you look through the photos, you'll see that the seats show almost no wear at all. The headliner is also clean and in excellent condition. The worst thing I can say about the interior is that the dash has a crack by the speaker on the drivers side. The stereo has been upgraded to a CD system which sounds excellent. The climate control is fully automatic or can be operated manually. The climate control is in proper working condition. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD air. The trunk is clean and spacious. The original VIN tags are still visible. Again, driving this car is an absolute pleasure. It's like driving the most comfortable sofa you've ever sat in. Pride in ownership definitely shows. All of the original books and manuals are included with this car! Mechanically, this Lincoln is in good condition. Powered by the tried and true 5.0L engine found in everything from Mustangs to police cars, suv's and trucks...it's needless to say that she gets down the road with no problems. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly. As with many 5.0's, the power steering pump is a little noisy. Many times this just happens over time but I think this one actually has a leak at the pump. I couldn't find where to check the fluid but a power steering pump is inexpensive to replace. The engine iteslf is in great running condition. It makes plenty of power and accellerates this yacht down the highway without breaking a sweat. I had her out on the highway for a while just cruising and I was doing almost 80 without even knowing it. She glides down the highway like your driving on a cloud. There are no vibrations or pulling while driving. The suspension feels tight as it should. The steering feels like it should. The brakes stop this car easily and show absolutely no pulsation, pulling or vibration even under heavy breaking from highway speeds. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The odometer shows 75,000 miles. For as strait and clean as this car is, I would take that to be the original miles but it will be sold as MILES EXEMPT due to its age. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
