Vehicle Detail
2002 Chevy Impala Ex-police School Resource Officer Car This police car did see some road patrol service but not much, basically the summer time when the School Resource Officer was out of the schools. This vehicle was then driven lightly and not very often as primary transportation for one of our School Resource Officers. It was fleet maintained with the rest of the police fleet. This car was driven about 12,000 miles a year if that doesn’t speak for it as a police car nothing will. Most police cars are almost double or more than that. Body in fair shape, some minor dings and scratches, police striping adhesive remains on car although the actual stripes were removed. Very minimal rust and has a rear spoiler on the trunk. Two holes for police light bar and radio antenna are there but temporarily filled in to keep from leaking. Missing: Interior dome light, spot light, maybe smaller parts Tires are decent condition and hold air, aftermarket aluminum wheels in good shape. The blue interior is in pretty nice shape cloth bucket front seats, vinyl rear bench seat. Rubber mat floor. Dash is in great shape no holes or cracks it does have a sticky place where a calendar was stuck to the dash otherwise in perfect shape. The driver’s side door panel has a bad spot on the arm rest otherwise the interior is in pretty good shape. This car had a police console that contained all of the equipment so there may be small holes from mounts and wires from this console. Nothing too bad though. It appears all electronics work including the A/C and heat. Car drives forward and reverse, engine sounds and runs good but will need a battery boost to get started, the battery is dead. Car is in need of repairs, I was told it needs brakes all the way around, needs power steering unit (rack and pump), has rusted brake lines , rusted fuel lines and probably has other issues we are unaware of. This car was deemed unsafe to operate by our Township mechanic; therefore the winning bidder should be able to remove the vehicle by any means necessary other than driving.
