Vehicle Detail

1967 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE-ONE OWNER !!! Up for auction is this amazing 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible. This car belongs to a long time family friend and has been owned by his aunt since the day she bought it in 1967. The family has finally decided to part with the car in hopes that someone else will enjoy it as much as she did. This '67 is a turn key time capsule. It runs like an absolute top and every single component works as it should. The car was never dry stored, but rather has been driven a few hundred miles each year to keep the fluids moving and seals in order. All of the components in the car as well as the complete drivetrain are original to this car and have never been modified or disturbed. Only service items such as belts, hoses, filters, and a few small gaskets have been changed to keep the car in order. I would rate the car as slightly better than "driver " quality because it is so complete and original. Body- The car has been garaged since its purchase in 1967 so it is free of any rust in the floorboards, trunk, or rocker areas. The car has never been in any kind of major accident so the floors and torque boxes are square and without issue. The shock towers do not show any kind of stress or repairs of any kind. All of the body hardware is original and complete. The car was repainted sometime in the early 80s. The paint is shiny, but not highly glossy. There is not any evidence of patch panels, panel replacements, or repairs anywhere. The convertible top is in good order without any tears or major blemishes. It does have some fading on the rear, lower edge. The dash is complete and totally unmolested. The wiring has never been cut into or tampered with. All of the lamps work correctly. The trunk floors, inner quarters, and fuel tank are perfect. The doors are not sagging and shut with minimal effort. Drivetrain- This car still has its original 289/ 2 barrel, C4, and 8 inch Ford differential. The engine has been maintained by the same mechanic for the last 25 years. As mentioned above, only service parts have been changed in order to keep the car in a good working state. The engine starts nicely and runs cool. The coolant is free from debris, oil, and corrosion. The transmission shifts smoothly and does not slip. While the drivetrain does exhibit 44 years of road dirt, it is totally complete and in good working order. Extras- I will be including the original black CA license plates with the car. I also have the original toneau cover that snaps in place as well as the very rare toneau bag for when it is stored. All of the original wheel covers, spare, and trunk mat are in place. Please feel free to ask any questions or request pictures of particular areas of the car. I am listing it with a very aggressive, low reserve. We are ready to sell the car so feel free to place your bid. I have bought and sold 100s of cars, but have not seen a true "little old lady preserved" car in many years. This car has never left California and it truly shows. There's tons of upside here to take advantage! Thanks for looking. Youtube video of the engine running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgegr6MS41s
