Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a retail dealership might ask for a similar vehicle. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally road test it so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on the findings of my road test. The information contained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. If you would like to come see this vehicle in person before bidding, just ask. I would be happy to arrange a time to meet you at my warehouse so you can see it with your own eyes. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle prior to sale. Any known faults are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully before bidding or asking questions. Up for auction today is a gorgeous 1992 Cadillac Allante roadster. This car has a RECONSTRUCTED PENNSYLVANIA TITLE. Please don't ask me if I know why...because I don't have any history. A car is issued a "reconstructed" title in the state of PA because it was bought by an insurance company at some time for some reason. It could have been stolen, it could have been vandalized ( I actually had one of my personal cars vanalized with some kind of paint stripper and the insurance company bought the car) or it could have been in anything from a light to heavy collision...I don't know. In Pennsylvania, a car that is sold by an insurance company is issued a salvage certificate first. Any damage must then be repaired and inspected by the Pennsylvania State Police before it can be actually issued a reconstructed title. Walking around the outside of this Allante, there are no signs of past or present damage visible. It is finished in white diamond which has a brilliant shine all around it. There are no dents, dings, scratches or rust that I could find. All of the glass and lenses appear to be in tact. The alloy wheels look great and show no damage. The tires are in great condition with great tread all around and no signs of dry rot. The soft top is in perfect condition and all of the mechanics (pull down motor, boot release, top release and front open/close) are working properly. The top goes up and down quickly and without issue. The Allante is one of the most exclusive cars General Motors has ever made and probably the most expensive when you consider that it was sold from the late 80's throught the early 90's with a price tag close to $70,000. Corrected for inflation, that car would probably cost more than $150,000 in todays money. The Pininfarina penned lines are unmistakable and took Cadillac to a new level when it was introduced. These cars were designed and built in Italy and then transported to the U.S. in specially modified airplanes for fitting of the power train. The technology in these cars was pretty wild for the late 80's. These were very special cars, reserved for the few. With a sticker price double that of the current Corvette, few could afford them! Proof that these were such special cars lives on through the dedicated owners of these cars who maintain Allante clubs all over the country and support these uniquie vehicles by offering OEM quality replacement and refurbished parts to keep these amazing cars on the road for years to come. Please check out all of the photos! This is the cleanest Allante I have ever seen in person. The interior of this Allante is in as good of condition as the exterior. The door panels are clean and in tact with all buttons working as they should. Once you sit in the drivers seat and close the door, you are greeted by a very well kept interior. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout. The leather seats show no wear and are still very supple, not brittle like some I've seen. The interior in this Allante is the tightest I have ever seen. Usually as these cars age, the ash tray and console area become loose and wobble around. This one feels tight and everything operates as it should. The instrument cluster lights up and works properly. All of the buttons do what they are supposed to do. The climate control is working properly and the air conditioner will freeze you out of the car. The Bose stereo in this Allante is in perfect working order. All of the speakers are working and sound excellent. The top operates easliy and properly and the side trim pieces are included as are a complete set of mats and the original owners manual. Mechanically, this Allante seems to be in good running condition. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly. I didn't see any leaks present. During my road test(s), the engine kept proper temperature and good oil pressure. There were no warning lights on and I checked the onboard diagnostic system and there were no present codes. Out on the road, she cruises pretty nice. It drives nice and strait. The brakes feel like they should. The suspension and steering are tight and responsive like they should be. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts like it should. As with any car (especially a very low mile, older car) I would recommend a complete service to keep her running properly. It did run a little rough for me one time but normal all the others. I know the TPS is sensitive in these cars and so is the spark pick up. These are very servicable cars and easy to keep in top shape. This car presents no known electrical or mechanical issues. Quite the opposite, all of the normal things that normally go wrong with Allante's appear to be functioning normally. If you are considering purchasing one of these amazing cars, I would urge you to read as much as you can to educate yourself. Buying an Allante is an investment. Some parts of these cars are simple to maintain (the American parts like engine, trans, ect...) and some parts are very expensive to work on (the Italian parts). Here is what I know....The Bose speakers in these cars are individually amplified and known to be trouble. If an Allante you are looking at has a speaker not working, you should know that it is recommended to replace all amplifiers at once...not just one (and they aren't cheap). Also, if you are looking at one with a "light out" in the dash...there is no such thing. Repairing a faulty instrument center is like performing surgery on your car. Beware of Allante's with climate control problems...this, too, can be costly as can ABS issues. Do yourself a favor and google the Allante. There are so many forums and clubs filled with dedicated owners who are happy to share what they know about these great cars. I bought this car for a few reasons. 1) year...if you know these cars, you know that 91.5-92 are the best years 2) miles...low mile Allante's are getting hard to find 3)condition...as soon as I laid eyes on this car I knew I had to have it 4)no typical issues...once I sat in it and saw that everything was clean and working properly, all doubt was removed in my head of whether or not to buy it. I normally sell my cars with no reserve but I took a huge chance buying one with a rebuilt title. I think the miles and condition of this car speak for itself but I am not going to take a chance. I paid a lot of money for this car and I would rather park it next to my Grand National than give it away. I know I am probably not going to run accross one in this condition with low miles again. I am placing a very reasonable reserve on this car with a sensible "buy it now". Considering that most sellers with low mile Allante's are asking $8,000-10,000 for ones with similar miles and in similar condition, I think my price is very fair. If the reserve is met first, it will go to the highest bidder. If you are a serious buyer, don't let this one get away. The last car I used a low reserve with a buy it now was a Volvo 740 wagon. The reserve was met very quickly and it ended up selling for $200 more than the buy it now that I had listed with it originally.
