1913 THOR model U,1000cc V TWIN...U are bidding on a very rare vintage motorcycle. This is a barn fine bike.A restoration was started unknown years ago by a bike collector.The bike was disassembled down to the crankcase,which was NEVER split.The bottom end turns free.Rods,pistons,cylinders and valves appear in good condition and most important original.Over all condition of the engine is very good and will not take to much to restore.The only major part missing is the Bosch magneto which is a special 50 degree firing type.I have located this magneto on a site for less than $500 so they are available.The carb is original and from Aurora.The bike is missing the exhaust system which I have found as a repop for $450 plus $25 each for the exhaust nuts.The bike is a single speed and the clutch assembly appears complete.The frame had been stripped...BAD...but no cracks or breakage noticed..GOOD...Front forks appear complete and still show some of the original Thor Aurora markings.Wheels are all there,but need new rims and spokes.has the original white tyres ,needs the hubs rebuilt.Gas tank is basically in good condition and ready to have restoration done.The bike has the ORIGINAL tool box,very hard to find.Fenders are there and usable has the flairs,stays and even the remains of the mud flap.Handel bar is there and useable with some of the controls.The seat frame is included .This is a restoration for the...SERIOUS...collector.All the hard parts are here,but there are some parts that will have to be made or sourced.Again not for the faint of heart or the impatient.I have seen concurs examples of this bike for $90k and lesser unrestored examples in the $50 to $60k range.This bike has a BUY IT NOW price of $25k and estimated restoration cost of $25k,putting it well in the good deal range.Detailed pictures are available to the serious bidder.Delivery is available to the Davenport meet for expenses.Other delivery options are available.There is no title for the bike,but will give a bill of sale.These bikes do not come along very often so if U want it......I am not a authority on these early vintage bikes,but will answer any questions to the best of my ability....Thank You
