Vehicle Detail

This listing is for an UNRESTORED, ALL ORIGINAL 1964 Ford Falcon Futura convertible. This car belonged to my grandmother. When she died my father took ownership. Now my father has passed and I have the car. It was garage kept for all the years that it has been in my family. My father did replace the convertible top and to my knowledge otherwise the car is completely original. It starts and runs very well and is a really fun car to drive. People notice it and go out of their way to see it more closely. The convertible top retracts automatically and comes back up smoothly as well. The vinyl cover that covers the convertible top in the down position fits tightly and needs to be stretched back out to fit all the snaps. To my knowledge there are NO mechanical issues with this car. There are several cosmetic issues, primarily a crease in the drivers side door. The chrome molding in this area is unaffected . There is also two tears in the front seat ,one at the drivers foot area and a small hole in the front bench seat near the radio. There is some visible rust in front of the left front wheel as well as a small area with missing paint on the right front quarter panel. I have taken detailed pictures of each of these imperfections. The car is very solid otherwise with very little rust. I have had several collectors look closely at the car and they were each impressed with the lack of rust in the floor, fenderwell and underpending of the vehicle. This car will not need much at all to become a showpiece! I have set a modest reserve for this Falcon and am hesitant to sell it because of the amount of years it has been in my family. If you are a Ford person, and in particular a Falcon person,I challenge you to find one that is in this shape with low mileage and unrestored original quality. Buyer will be responsible for all shipping charges. I will work with you every way possible to accomodate delivery. Clear title in hand. I have taken many pictures , ENJOY!!!On Jun-30-11 at 15:57:19 PDT, seller added the following information: .I have had many requests for pictures of the underneath of the vehicle. I now have pictures. I placed the car on ramps and took several pictures. There is NO RUST at all in the floorboard or underneath the vehicle. I did find out that the motor was rebuilt. There are NO leaks. This car is very tight and has no rattles nor other noises. I noted any imperfections and took pictures in the original listing. I wiil try to forward pictures of the underneath of the vehicle to serious bidders only. The interest and response as well as questions about the condition of the car has been overwhelming at times!! This Falcon is the real deal!! Have a great 4th of July!!On Jul-06-11 at 13:02:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Today I found my fathers service records for this Falcon and felt that they may be worth sharing as the interest in the car has continued to grow. The following has been done to the car as evidenced through the repair orders that I found; replaced upper ball joints, replace front and rear U joints, install modulator valve, install new shocks,, install valve guide seals and rocker arm gaskets, install plugs and wires, rebuild carburetor, reline front and rear brakes, replace cylinders, flush hydraulic system, adjust parking brake, rebuild master cylinder, install new gas tank, repair sending unit, install voltage regulator, REBUILD ORIGINAL MOTOR,,new fuel pump, rebuild original starter, (there is a breakdown of the parts in the rebuild that includes), 8 pistons,a set of power rings, all new gaskets, timing chain set,cam lifter kit,rod bearings, main bearings,8 exhaust valves, oil pump, cam bearings etc. Included is the 1964 Falcon registered owners manual. I replaced the battery about three weeks ago. I have had multiple requests to look more closely for rust by looking in the wheel wells, under the mat in the trunk around the wheel wells and the front fender wells and have found none yet. The rubber molding around the windows is all intact and not dry rotted. There is a "260" emblem in the glove box that was once on the exterior. The transmission is a two speed automatic. The tires were replaced in 2002 18575R14 MEDAL SBR A/S WS 89S. I hope that you find this information helpful!
