Vehicle Detail
1966 Volkswagon Beetle. Only 65,243 miles. Fresh 1300cc single port, all stock with exception of 12volt conversion. New carb, battery, brakes, lines, drop spindles, tie rod ends, ball joints, wheels (Empi/BRM's), tires, running boards, 12V flasher relay, 12V headlight switch, front & rear lenses, turn signal arm/switch, license tabs. Paint & interior done in late eighties (as you can see). not perfect, but still gets alot of attention. Nice carpet, nice red & gray seats & panels. Car has just a few very small "shopping cart" dings. The only rust on this car is some very minor surface rust under the silver paint (very small spots, see pics) due to poor prep work before spraying. Like i said, very minor. There is absolutely no serious corrosion penetrating the steel. The pan is perfect, no rot, not even a dent under there. No patch panels either. This car is as solid as they come. All lights work perfectly, no spastic blinkers on this bug! This car runs perfect, drives great, stops on a dime. just a really nice old Beetle. Car comes with its stock spindles, bearings, wheels/tires with caps & lugs, to return to its stock stance. Also comes with a nice new ceramic exhaust system from Empi, New in the box. (see pic!) GREAT GAS MILEAGE CAR! 30+MPG! This is the last year of the really cool, old style Beetles! I reserve the right to end this auction @ any time due to vehicle being for sale locally. Thanks for looking @ this great little Vee-Dub, Winning bidder will not be disappointed! Good luck!On Jun-29-11 at 11:14:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I have the original "Hella" Lenses, the original carburetor, and a box of misc new parts that are included with this great little Volksie. This car has only 65243 original mile since new and its bumpers and all four fenders are original heavy gauge German OEM equipment. This Car has never been in a collision or even so much as a fender bender, this is according to the original owner and myself (ive only put 250 miles on the car since 2002). The reserve is set @ 4500, Far less then my total investment in this car, but you know how that goes, right?? :-)On Jun-29-11 at 23:16:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received quite a few questions about the condition of this VW. Mostly questions as to how much rust it has. Ive been all over and under this car and have not found ANY serious rust/corrosion anywhere, no rust-through under the battery, no rust in the spare tire well up front, no rust between the running boards and the body, no rust in the floorboards, no rust in or around the insides of the fenders. Just small spots of surface rust from when "whoever" painted the roof section silver, due to a poor prep job prior to painting. Absolutely no serious pitting or rust-through anywhere.. This car has spent its entire life in the high desert city of Lancaster California, and is in extremely good condition as far as rust is concerned. The original owner painted the roof silver to cut down on the interior heat inside the car due to its obvious lack of AC. In 2002 it was bought and made its way to Washington state, where it has been garage kept ever since. This VW has only seen rain once since it has been here in Washington, and that was only for about an hour of sitting outside when it happened to sprinkle. Thus i can honestly say it was never "driven" in the rain, it only "sat" in the rain (and i really felt bad about it). Also- The heater/defroster does work!
