Vehicle Detail
1951 Willys Jeepster Convertible, 4 cylinder 3 speed with an overdrive transmission. Has been sitting in a barn, not driven or started for the last 15 years. The engine is not siezed and will turn over. Last time licenced was in California in 1996. This Willys has been restored at least once in the last 60 years and is due for a redo. The original color was dark green. The body is straight and there is rust in the windshield frame, in the lower portion of both doors and around both rear fenders. Most of the panels are straight so the body repair will be on the easy side. The frame is solid, the front floors have been patched with galvanized sheet metal and screws, so they would be easy to redo the right way, the rest of the floors are solid. the convertible fabric is trash, but the top frame is complete and in good condition. When this Willys was restored the upholstery was redone in yellow and white vinyl and is in still in decent condition but needs to be cleaned. The windshield is good with no cracks or wiper marks, the plastic side windows are complete and the aluminum frames are good but the plastic is cloudy and will need to be replaced. The mileage shows 81,812 but there is no documentation to back that up. As you can probably tell from my description this is a project, but is in very good condition to be 60 years old and has great potential. I do not have a title, but it is my understanding that titles are easy to obtain on vehicles of this era. There is a box of extra parts that goes with the car including door mirrors, aluminum step plates, extra carburator, extra generator, etc, etc. The car is currently not running and the left rear brake is locked up and the wheel will not roll due to long term storage. The car will have to be hauled by the winning bidder. I have tried to describe this Willys to the best of my abilty, but have probably missed something that you would like to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect the vehicle in person prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. The reserve is set very reasonable for a rare classic Willys of this caliber and the winning bidder will not be disappointed. Thanks for looking and good luck in the bidding.
