Vehicle Detail

First before anything...I want to thank everyone for clicking on, and viewing my auction. Up for auction is a 1987 Jeep Cherokee 4 door Sport Wagon, with a strong and well running 4.0 Litre inline 6 cylinder engine, with automatic transmission with overdrive...The inline 6 cylinder is one of the best, and strongest engines Jeep has ever created. This Jeep has been in my family from the beginning, and we are talking about some older, slow driving family members that took great pride in their vehicles which is why this Jeep is in such excellent condition. My Aunt Terry purchased this Cherokee I believe in 1988. She drove it very well, Taking pride in it, never hot rodding it, and always making sure the fluid levels were checked and kept the oil changed every 3000 miles. In 1994, my Aunt traded the Jeep to my Grandma and Grandpa because my Grandpa had heart surgery, and their Camaro was much too hard for him to get in and out of with his health and all. They took very good care of it as well, driving it slow of course and keeping the proper maintainance on it. My Grandpa died in June of 1999. My Grandma continued on, driving the jeep when she needed to go to the store or Post office and such. She was very picky with it, not allowing anyone else to drive it. She was always worried someone would either drive it hard, or wreck it...that was grandma for you. She became ill and short on money last year, so she parked the Jeep because the tags became expired and she couldn't afford the insurance and the smog, plus get the tags. Grandma just passed away on February 19th 2011. The Jeep came to me, and I have owned it since February. I just had it smogged a couple of months ago and it passed immediately with no problem! I paid the registration fees and tagged it. The tags just expired again on May 27th, so they are due again. The buyer will have to show proof of insurance and pay for the new registration which I believe is only $96.00. The smog is still good since it has not been longer than 90 days. First, let me tell you the 3 or 4 minor things wrong with it first.... 1. A couple of weeks ago, when I put the Jeep in drive, it would take off, but wouldn't go to the next gear, so I took it to a transmission shop and found out it was NOT the transmission (Thank God)but instead, the Automatic Shift Computer... located under the dash on the passenger side. A big relief! So they unplugged it for now, and it shifts fine manually until a new Shift computer is installed. It only takes a few minutes, it just plugs right in and goes back under the dash. I seen a couple of them for sale on Ebay for $25.00 to $50.00 used but gauranteed. 2. The A/C compressor and system works fine, but the refridgerant is too low and does not get cold enouph to use so it needs serviced. 3. There are some stains on one of the seats that can be cleaned out. The driver seat at the bottom left has tear in it from 24 years of wear. I took a photo of it...check the pics. The lift shocks on the back hatch trunk are wore out so the back lift door does not stay all the way up when opened, and grandma accidently broke a key off inside the drivers door lock...it's still in there and may be able to be removed with a magnet or something. For now, you have to unlock the passenger side and reach over to unlock the driver door from the inside. Oh, and the bumper covers on the ends of the rear bumper need to be replaced. They have small holes in them from age. they are made of plastic/rubber material and are easy to replace. That's all. This Jeep runs and sounds excellent. The engine runs strong, smooth and quiet with NO pinging or knocking at all. Fluids were always checked and changed on time. Shocks, struts, bushings and suspension are all stiff, tight, and like new with no squeeking creeking sringy sounds. These Jeeps on some of these years were built with 2 separate transmissions, AMC and Toyota...This Jeep came out with the Toyota Electronic Shift Transmission with four speed plus overdrive...The very best of the two, just ask any Transmission Mechanic...This transmission was built to outlast and outperform the other by a long shot. This transmission is in excellent condition and shifts very smoothly with no slipping or stalling of any kind. The filter is still new, and the fluid is so clean, you can't hardly even see it. Transmission shop said that this transmission is in excellent working order like brand new...spotless inside, and that's a fact. Four wheel drive works fantastic too. This Jeep can be driven in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive whenever needed, at the pull of a lever. It has "Four Wheel High" and "Four Wheel Low" for that really slippery or muddy wet terrain. In low, this thing could probably mow a house down...it feels like a tank. Transfer case and Dana 44 rear end all in excellent working order. Under the hood, it has a brand new battery with a 2 year free replacement just installed in March 2011. Battery terminal clamps were also installed brand new. Also installed was a brand new 100 amp high output Alternator with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. This was just installed this month (June 2011). A new Radiator was installed last year as well. The Thermostat was also checked and replaced with a new 180 degree Thermostat and brand new gasket. A brand new Pioneer detachable face CD player with ipod or MP3 hookup with remote, was also just installed 2 weeks ago! It's body is solid, straight, and clean with no dents anywhere that i can see. All Terrain Tires are in great shape with lots of tread still on them. This Jeep Still Has it's original 4x4 wheels and moon rings. Everyone has been wanting me to trade these for their wheels, but I like them and turned them down. All lights including headlamps, running lamps, break lights, blinkers front and back, back-up lights and emergency flashers all work with no problem at all. All doors and handles open, shut, and lock perfectly and quietly with ease. Inside, all Dash Panel Gauges and lights work properly as well including the courtesy lamp. Ignition Key starts vehicle smoothly and flawlessly. Heater works too good. Blower fan works so good, you would almost think you were in a brand new car. Blows perfectly. Horn works great as well. Seats adjust back and forth, up and down and recline back all the way. Back bottom of the seat lifts up to let backrest fold down to create a large Cargo area for hauling a large amount of items or groceries etc. Glove box has built in lock with key, and is equipped with a light inside when opened. Jeep also has factory luggage and ski rack on top of vehicle for ease of travel. A very nice Jeep Cherokee indeed...If I could keep it, I would...But I can't afford 3 Vehicles right now. Very well taken care of, and that's no lie...The pictures speak for themselves. Good luck on bidding, have fun evryone and god bless all of you. If you have any questions, ask anytime day or night, and I will try to check my messages as often as I can and get back to you. Thank you everyone for looking or bidding.
