Vehicle Detail
1989 Honda NX650 (in Europe it was called the Dominator). The bike is freshly repainted Peformance Red and Satin Black.I bought it early last year to use for 2-3 day trips. I had the engine rebuilt with a new crankshaft, crankshaft bearings, Hot cam mild performance cam, honda factory piston, new valves, rockers, and all new gaskets. I installed a new front brake rotor since the old one was rough, i installed all LED tail lights with programmable pulsing for better visibility. I have a brand new Shad cargo box and mount. It has the complete STOCK dual exhaust and currently has a full stainless steel Lazer single exhaust system.I installed a Dynajet kit for better performance, a new K&N air filter, new sealed "gel" style battery and it has heated grips. Here is the bad...the grips are not plugged in yet, the bike needs some minor carb adjustments, and the front tire is getting worn. It also could use a new clutch perch (bolt is missing right now).I've run it many times but can either get it to run great at lower rpm's or higher, but not both. I think that i went too lean on the clip position or it needs the mixture screw adjusted. I just dont have the time with my current job (and i have kids to feed). I have other things going on and it just sits in the garage...sad:( I've seen these go for over $3000 with the stock ugly blueish grey paint. This has two exhaust systems, all new paint (clear coated) and a brand new engine!!All i want is for my wife to stop nagging that i have too many bikes, and let someone who can tune the jet kit have a great foundation for rides. I'm disappointed that i wont be going on trips with it, but I hope it goes to someone who wont part it out on eBay! Its too nice of a cycle for that.
