Beautiful black and tan Targa. 6 cylinder, 3.6 litre, 282 horsepower. AM/FM radio with Cassette player and digital readout in dash gives a retro 1996 look. Classic lines, low center of gravity. A Porsche through and through! Three Palm Beach owners. Garage kept 11 years. Excellent condition on the entire exterior finish, except for minor paint blemishes below Targa emblem on rear panel covering engine, three small spots on hood, and one blemish near right rear window. Otherwise paint and finish is deep black, lustrous, in very good shape and absolutely fantastic (See 24 photos). New Michelin Pilot Sport tires with less than 2000 miles on them were installed in January 2011. See the unique Targa wheels which are beautiful and classy; three out of four are in excellent shape, and one has suffer some scrapes (see photos of all four). Tiptronic four speed transmission allows for manual sport driving with choice of steering wheel mounted shifters or traditional stick shifter. Tiptronic also allows for fully automatic driving in stop and go traffic which makes this vehicle a breeze to drive for anyone in the family. Fewer than 25,000 original miles on this class air cooled engine. This engine is no longer made by Porsche and is highly sought after. The "Targa" top provides two moving elements: one glass and one fabric. The fabric sunshade can be scrolled up to allow sun to enter cabin, or unfurled to protect from sunlight, as driver desires. The glass top can be opened to reveal a total open cab and sky view. The lines on this model are thought by many to be superior to the cloth top cabriolet convertibles. The top can be tricky to operate and I have had it fixed. This vehicle was fully inspected and serviced by a Porsche master technician in August of 2010, prior to my purchasing. A complete service record since that time is available to the Ebay auction winner. In March of 2011 I had the engine removed in order to have the timing case, the valve cover gaskets, and the front and rear cranks resealed. At the same time A/C belt, steering pump belt, and alternator fan hub were replaced. Engine is in fantastic working order. Sounds wonderful. Original manuals did not come to me in the purchase, but The Porsche 993 Essential Companion (reference manual) by Adrian Streather will come to Ebay auction winner along with a new reflective waterproof car cover, and two new front floor mats.
