Price is firm. I have a 1978 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser for sale. I revised the description to incorporate answers to most of the questions I've been receiving. Please don't hesitate to ask for additional photos, information, etc. about the vehicle. With a removable top, this FJ40 would make a great hunting vehicle or candidate for a restoration. I purchased the cruiser last summer with plans to drive it around a bit and start restoring it this spring. Plans have changed, and rather than starting the restoration, I'm getting ready to move. So, the cruiser needs to go. Since I purchased it, it has always fired right up and runs great. I only live a few miles from my office but often drive it there a couple times a week. I wouldn't consider it a daily driver though; I've probably only put three to five hundred miles on it since owning it. I did replace the front bumper with a brand new OEM one; other than that, I haven't done much with it other than change the oil and drive it. The tires are basically new BFGs (~$800 for the set). Everything appears to be original. It does not have power steering (haven't missed that) or a/c. Mileage is unknown. Odometer shows 54,000 and my guess would be that it has 154,000 miles, but it is just a guess. If you want to restore it, most of the work would involve dealing with rust on the body and addressing oil leaks/leaky seals. The rear sill is rusted out (replacements available online) and needs to be replaced; other spots need repair, including the bottom of the rear ambulance doors. The front doors may need a little work along with other scattered spots. Some spots will require welding in patches and others just need to grinded and protected with a rust inhibitor. Bottom of driver's seat needs to be reupholstered. If you're not able or willing to deal with the rust repair or the leaks, this is not the cruiser for you. I have the title in hand. Please don't contact me unless you're seriously considering working out a deal for the truck. If you're close by and serious about purchasing, you're welcome to come over and drive it. Please be serious though, I'm not home much and don't have time for tire kickers. This is a 33 year old vehicle and is sold as-is with no warranties expressed or implied. When I purchased it, I took it home on a tow dolly; I recommend you do the same or if you live far away, have it shipped. The cruiser must be picked up unless you're able to make all the arrangements for shipping. Also included are a full set of factory repair manuals, chilton manual, bikini top, new hard top weatherstripping, oem jack, tire tool, plug-in inspection light, and a box of assorted items. In addition, I'll throw in an OEM Toyota CB radio and OEM 8-track player. I haven't tested either but purchased them (off of eBay) to go in the truck. Ebay limits me to 24 photos.
