Vehicle Detail
1963 Chevrolet Corvair. I started this project a couple of years ago, and haven't the time to finish. The motor runs, actually drove it prior to restoration. The motor needs fine tuned, mostly carbuerators and timing. Some new parts on motor. Needs valve cover gasket replaced on right side, have them NIB. I have done a lot of paint stripping on this, with a bit to go. The trunk cover is completely done, with grey primer. The engine hood is almost stripped, but not quite. Here is the nice thing. I bought and parted out a 1962 Corvair, and have almost every part on this car duplicated. That includes a much better motor than what is in it currently. I have a couple of nice front & rear bumpers, plus a lot of trim. I have 4 front seats, and 2 rear seats, though they are not in great shape. I do have any interior door panels, but none great. If you want to know if I have a part, just ask. Back to the auction car, The floor has rust in a few places, would probably be best to put in new sheet metal, there is rust in the trunk, around the wheel wells, and around the seals. the enging compartment needs a bit of new sheet metal, the battery box mostly. All Glass is good, & have all the trim for this car, though some is rough. I have a lot of literature, including a shop manual. Ask any question, I will be glad to answer anything. Addition 6/6/11: The pictures of the Corvair are prior to me starting to rebuild. I was not trying to mislead anyone. I thought that I made it clear above that I had already started to restore it. If you have questions regarding this, please feel free to ask, and I apologize if I mislead you. Addition 6/6/11: I am interested in selling the entire project. If It does not sell, then I may consider parting it out. I would rather not, as it is a good project car, and I have being on the computer trying to sell it piece by piece.
