Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a beautiful red 1988 Cadillac Allante, 2-seater, with hard-top and soft-top and has just over 100,000 miles. It has been kept in a garage, under a carport or under a car cover and has only had maintenance completed by Cadillac dealers since 1991. I took ownership from my step-mother just a few years ago. This is a solid rust-free car with very little cosmetic damage. The vehicle was caught in a hail storm several years ago and there are a couple, only a couple, of small dings, no chips, from that incident. Other than that, there is a crack, not a hole, in the passenger-side headlight, which does not affect it's working properly. There is a trunk release switch and fuel door release switch, which both work as they should. This car has power everything. The power antenna, trunk, driver/passenger seats, windshield wipers, lighted instrument panel and the hard/soft top catch/release all work beautifully. The power windows, however, need new switches. I was told the window motors are still perfect. I have seen these window switches on eBay for around $40 - $50/pair. I run the engine every couple of weeks and keep it under a car cover. It has been only about a month since I took it down the road, for a drive. All gears smoothly change and it has great acceleration. The hard-top is in great condition and the soft-top is in good condition. The soft-top was rarely used, so there are a couple, only a couple, of worn areas, no tears, from being folded for the better part of it's life. It, also, has real glass in both of the tops. The battery has it's special place, behind the passenger seat, in a locking compartment. There is, also, a locking center console. This car was way ahead of it's time. It has digital everything, as well. It has an outside temperature gauge, avg. fuel economy gauge, how many miles left to fill-up and many other features. The car has been wonderful, but with two children, now, it isn't very practical. Whether you are looking for something to take to beach and feel the wind in your hair or for your children for their first car, this vehicle is great. My dad had the original window sticker, at one time, and he says the car was bought new for around $65,000. I have a VERY low reserve on this vehicle. I am selling it locally, as well, so, I will end the auction early, if it is sold. If my reserve is not met, I will consider the highest bidder, so let's get to bidding!!!!!
