I am helping a friend from church sell this 1987 S-10 Pickup. He is a teacher at our local high school and bought this truck with low miles on it. He has had it for probably around 4 years. I periodically work on his cars for him and had just recently put a new radiator and water pump on this truck. It then developed the current problem which is why he decided to sell it. His son was driving it to school when he noticed a noise. They brought the truck to me and I noticed that it was popping out of the throttle body, I originally thought that it had a broke a rocker arm or spring but for whatever reason it drove the pushrod through the lifters. I don't really understand why this happened. it could be a timing issue or a valve oiling issue. I do know it was running fine with no warning lights it was just popping. The brakes are in great shape , the tires are new , and the transmission shifted fine. I was originally going to purchase this vehicle myself and put a 350 in it which was also my recommendation to them but decided I really did not need it. The windows are manual but both sides have a problem with coming out of the track. This truck is not currently running ! It could be tow barred but I would recomend trailering it. I did not put the top end of the motor back together but it is all with the truck. It is not ac equipped and only has an am radio. The interior is in good shape with the exception of one small rip on the drivers side and the headliner is in great shape. The paint job on the outside is fairly new. The inspection is good until July of this year and the registration goes out in June of this year. I have tried to be thorough in my description however I will gladly answer any other questions to the best of my ability. I do have a clear title on this truck and all necessary paper work to transfer it into your name.
