Vehicle Detail

2001 Sleeper, this is a definite pin you back in your seat ride! I bought this car used, and it turned into an obsession. The arrival of my third child forces me to sell it, as I can't fit 3 across the back seat. There's about 77.5k miles on the body, and the engine and supercharger have about 15k and 17k miles on them respectively. The stock engine was replace with a Ford Racing Aluminator long block crate engine (4.6L DOHC) which has an 8.5:1 compression ratio, forged pistons with 16.0 cc dish, forged H-beam connecting rods, 2003-04 Mustang Cobra cylinder heads and camshafts, windage tray and oil pan. The fuel system received a full upgrade, including a 2003 Cobra fuel tank, dual Ford GT fuel pumps with dual fuel pump driver modules (FPDMs), Seimens 60 lb fuel injectors, JEGS Pro-Flo 350 Series racing hose fuel lines (nylon filament braided hose, which is lighter than traditional stainless), and in-line check valves. Supercharged with a Kenne Bell 2.1L positive displacement intercooled supercharger w/a 2.75” pulley. As set up, it falls somewhere between 18 and 19 psi of boost. Hard to know exactly, because I tend to keep my eyes on the road, rather than on the gauges when my foot is on the pedal! Other extras include a Kenne Bell (Accufab) "Big Oval" throttle body, Innovators West 10% over harmonic dampener, JLT ram air intake, Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter, Steeda sport lowering springs, Wheel Replica FR500 style rims finished in Black Chrome - 18x9 in front, 18x10 rears, with unfortunate curb rash on right front rim, Bassani off road x-pipe, Magnaflow cat back, 3.73 gears (Ford Racing Performance Parts), Autometer Cobalt series Boost/Vacuum and Fuel Pressure gauges in a full A-Pillar mount (fuel gauge not working, needs sending unit), Super Chips chip holding the tune. As for the good stuff, this little '01 Cobra made 560 HP, 531 Torque to rear wheels, w/16 degrees of timing on its dyno-tune. Brakes and front tires are good, back tires are nearing end of life. Drivers seat is showing some wear, as this car was my daily driver for several years, even after it was built. Overall the interior is in excellent condition. Now for the disclosures: I have been rear ended twice in this car (I don't believe it was in any accidents prior to me purchasing it, but I am the third owner). The first time I was the front car in a 3 car collision, only damage was cosmetic, had the rear bumper cover repainted. The second time was a bit more damage, as it required the right rear fender, bumper cover, and right rear tail light to be replaced. There was no frame damage and no damage to the exhaust, and the shop I took it to did an excellent job - all body gaps and seams line up. Without disclosure, you wouldn't ever know that that this work had been done. Well, maybe a pro would be able to figure it out, but I know I sure wouldn't be able to tell! I have entered this car in many car shows, and it routinely takes home hardware. This is an awesome whip, and someone is going to get an awesome deal, as I have invested well over $30k in this car, knowing full well that I would never get my money out of it, but not caring since I was never going to sell it. Life has a funny way of making decisions for you though.... I do have an appraisal in hand, that was done in January of 2009 valuing this car at $24,500 with a 5-year value projection of +10%. Appraisal was done by John Hackett, with Classic Automotive Consultants - check out his web-site at classicautomotiveconsultants.com for his full credentials. This car was dyno-tuned by Tim Barth, when he was at Modular Power House outside of Atlanta. This car has been a labor of love for me, and it was the classic tale of a project "snow balling" until it morphed into what it is today. Though I wasn't done with it, I did have plans for it, I just can't justify keeping it with the arrival of my daughter. Any questions, please let me know - I believe in full and fair disclosure, though I know that someone will get a heck of a deal, just for being in the right place at the right time! I have the title in hand, as I own the car outright. This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to a local sale. Seller requires a $500 non-refundable deposit payable via PayPal within 72 hours of the end of the auction. I will work with you on dropping the car off for shipping, but all costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. If you are unsure whether you can afford or really want a vehicle like this, please don't bid! This car is a beast, and though it can be driven in a very tame manner by keeping your foot out of the pedal, please be sure that you want to deal with the power (and gas mileage) prior to bidding! ***More pix and walk around video, if I can figure out how to do it (yes I'm old and technologically inept) will be posted soon. On May-31-11 at 17:55:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Added a few more pix, video camera was dead, will charge over night and do a walk around video tomorrow. Also, forgot to mention that the car has a Diablo Sports MAFIA, and was converted to an 8-rib belt set up from the stock 6 rib.On Jun-01-11 at 11:24:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Link to an album on photobucket that contains add'l pics, as well as many of the pics in the listing. http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/kk268/dkrisel/Sale%20Pix/ The car also has full length sub-frame connectors, which you can see in the album pics.
