Greetings! Up for auction is a 1982 VW Rabbit Pick-up. In 2004 I purchased this truck for commuting to and from work on Hwy 1 between Big Sur and Monterey. The vehicle served the purpose well without any trouble. In 2006 I moved to Oregon leaving the VW behind. The plan was to return to Monterey and collect the truck for use in Oregon. That was 5 years ago and without a permanent parking space, it's time to find it a good home.The vehicle is complete and I believe it to be structurally sound. The body has surface rust on the hood from sitting. The rear has a dent in the corner tail and a scrape on the side. The engine ran well getting 45- 50 per-gallon. The electrical was good except the fuel gauge read inaccurately. The interior is complete but with different seats. The last work that was performed was an injector pump rebuild with Viton seals. There is also a Viton hose kit uninstalled. Four extra wheels with snow tires are included. Again the vehicle is used and has been sitting for some time. I cannot make any claims on its overall or running condition. I am starting the bidding low for this reason. It is presently registered non operational with the California DMV. Unfortunately, the only pictures we received are the first two, the other two are from a series we took before moving to Oregon.
