Vehicle Detail
You’re looking at a Triumph T140 Rolling Chassis. The frame started out as a straight 1979, but it’s been modified a little bit since. It’s just been rattle-canned, so it could do with a better paint job, and the oil reservoir needs cleaning out (it doesn’t come with the bottom plate- but the studs are in good shape. The new QA1 rear shock compression is adjustable, you can really dial in the comfort with a small knob underneath the seat. The stock T140 tank in the photos is not included, but gives you an idea of how the completed bike would look. Everything’s TIG welded. Chassis: Frame: 1979 Triumph Bonneville T140 Bill of Sale only Single front down tube Harley steering neck/bearings (you can use any 1” stem HD front end) Raked from 28 degrees to 33 degrees Gusseted neck Backbone notch for electronics (16ga steel- same as stock frame thickness) Custom subframe removal Custom seat-mount Uncovered Biltwell seat Custom steering stop tab Stainless 1/4” FNPT oil return fitting (replaces the brazed in factory Tee) Suspension Front: 2005 Suzuki GSX-R Forks Fully adjustable, preload, rebound and compression Clip-on handlebars Stainless steering stops Custom 1” Chromoly Steering Stem w/custom spacers and bearing preload/lock nuts New stock HD steering bearings Aluminum upper and lower triple trees Steel 3/4” axle and aluminum axle spacer Rear: All new construction swingarm stretched 7” 3/4” axle instead of stock 5/8” 1.25” Heavy wall chromoly tubing used Stock swingarm bushings and spacers QA1 adjustable monoshock Presently fitted with a 650lb/in spring, a 550 spring will be provided to fit spring to rider weight. Wheels: 21” rear, New 18” narrow glide front With new tire If you’d like to keep the current forks, with Suzuki brakes (310mm dual radial 4-piston calipers) I can make you a pair of custom carriers, anodized or bare that will allow you to bolt stock Suzuki calipers to the narrow glide hub. I have the same setup on another Triumph (see my other auction). On a light bike, they absolutely rock. Alternatively, you could pull these forks (and brakes) off and use them on any other HD that uses a 1” stem. Or just use a stock GSX-R front wheel and not have to bother with any adapters. All kinds of options. As is often the case- I have more time, money and effort into this bike than is reflected by the price, but I don’t have the shop space you see in the photos anymore so it’ll be up to someone else to finish this puppy. Here’s you’re chance to get a great deal on a unique bike. I can ship it intact or take it apart with instructions on how to reassemble- as is the bike weighs maybe 100 lbs. Shoot me an email if you have any questions. Good luck.
