Vehicle Detail
http://youtu.be/X5Ssu2BMqFg This is a 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Tribute. I built this car as close to my original 1968 442 as I could and even nicer than my original. It was originally a Cutlass S. I picked the Cutlass S because it has the same trim and hood as the 442. This car has a 1969 Olds Toronado 455. It has around 400 horsepower with only 11 miles on it. I added an Edelbrock Torker intake manifold and headers. The exhaust is brand new with flowmasters. The transmission is an original Muncie M21 Rock Crusher 4-speed. It has a 12 bolt rear end and the wheels are vintage Cragar SS'. 15x8.5 on the rear and 14x7 on the front. The shifter is an original 1968 442 shifter arm and Hurst Competition Plus shifter. It also has an original 1969 Olds rear spoiler/wing. New air shocks and brakes. The car itself has 96,000 miles on it. It has drum brakes all around. I put an original 442 rally steering wheel on it and vintage Auto Meter gauges and tach. Even the shifter boot is the correct factory non-console boot. The original buckets are in great shape with no rips or tears. The rear seat has a seam coming un-done, it's hard to see. It needs a headliner and carpet. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The 442 emblems are original and the grill is an original 442 grill and emblem. The grill is broken in a few places as well as the head light buckets. The paint is one month old and is deep black with a metal flake gold stripe. A 2-stage epoxy primer was laid down first. There are brand new polished stainless steel 442 exhaust trumpets welded on. This was NOT a "frame off" restoration. It's not perfect and is over 40 years old. It runs very strong and sounds great. The floors were rust free and in great shape. The glass is good for it's age and there are a couple of chips in the windshield. The windows work properly, the horn does not work or the speedometer after I put the 4-speed transmission in it. The radio is the factory original but does not turn on. The wipers work nicely as they should. The lights all work properly as they should except the back up lights are not connected since I converted it to a 4-speed. It has the original carb. It's a Rochester Quadrajet. I didn't rebuild it and it doesn't have a choke since I put the aluminum intake manifold on it. I was planning on putting a new carb on it before I got laid off. Please watch the youtube video of it starting and running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5Ssu2BMqFg if the videos don't work, email me and I'll email the link to you. Normally you just copy the link and paste it into your location bar if the link doesn't work. (payment) The payment is to be in full by bank/wire transfer or cash in person. As with any car you buy on ebay. It would always be a good idea to have a local mechanic do an inspection of the car and give you a report to make sure everything I have said about the car is accurate and give you peace of mind. I know it’s a scary thing buying a car, sight unseen on ebay hundreds of miles away. I know because I buy ebay cars too and know the feelings. That is why I build my own website with around 50 high resolution photos and videos of the car starting and running so you can do a virtual walk around and kick the tires. You can study the photos and really look it over. Copy this web address and paste it into the address bar in your browser ( http://users.sisna.com/casteel/ebay_1968_442.html ). Remember this is not a perfect car, just very, very nice. I don’t believe in “Reserves” so I’m starting it at a reasonable price. There is no “Down” payment when the auction ends. The “Full Amount” is due 48 hours after the end of the auction and is to be in the form of a “Bank Transfer” only. I feel, either you have the money for the car or you don’t. If you are bidding, you must have the money to pay for it or you wouldn’t be bidding. One of my buyers went to his bank and got a loan approved during the week of the auction, so when it ended, his money was waiting for him. If you have any recent “Negative Feedback” or “No Feedback”, you must email me first before bidding or I will remove your bid. I have set up a website with around 50 high resolution photos and videos of the car for you to look at from all angles (view photos here http://users.sisna.com/casteel/ebay_1968_442.html ). You can call me at 509-928-3342 with any questions. The buyer is responsible for picking up and delivery of the car. The car is in Spokane, Washington on the Idaho/Washington border. The zipcode is 99206 so you can look into the transportation costs to get the car home. I'll be back Friday evening to talk to the buyer if there is one. Thanks.
