Vehicle Detail
For sale is my very nice Triumph TR7 Contertible. These great sports cars represented a new idea from venerable Triumph Motors. The original coupe design penned by Harris Mann was modified to its beautiful convertible form by Michelotti of Italy. Advertised as the "Shape of things to come" and they were right when you look at many modern sports cars which bear a resemblance to the TR7. Demand was so high in the US for the new TR7 that it wasn't even launched in its British home market until nearly a year and a half after it went on sale here. With a dependable motor (also used in the SAAB 99) and safe, solid unibody construction it also saw some competition success, most notably at the hands of British racer Tony Pond. This particular example is in remarkably original condition, except for the roll bar and non stock wheels. The body is solid and shows no signs of major damage nor rust problems. The interior is in beautiful original condition with corduroy seats, not a crack in the dash, even the clock and little door lights work! Good glass all round. The motor starts up right away and runs well but could use a little tuning since the car has not been driven much at all for a few years - that said it just passed California smog. The top needs replacing, about $300. from my source. This is a very nice example of a great car, a design which still looks fresh today and draws compliments wherever I drive her. A lot of summer fun for very little money. Please ask questions before bidding. This is a no reserve auction.
