Vehicle Detail
I bought this car on Ebay last year. It has a Summit 355 crate motor ( 350 HP) that was installed like 10 years ago when summit was doing Engines. The transmission shifts great . I got this car as an investment because the bank doesn't pay worth a darn. I intended to keep it for a few years, but then the perfect property fell into my lap for my business, so its time to sell investments to someone else so they can reap the rewards in a few years and I can get a fence built on my new property now.see? WIN WIN! When I bought this car, I knew it was a PROJECT car. I got it from a fellow up in New York . Once I got the car, I realized the paint was rougher than I thought. It looks like a cheap paint reacted to older paint and made it lift. But if it is stripped, with minimal bodywork ( to a body guy) and new paint it could look like a million bucks. The body is solid , the frame was checked out by a professional body guy ( since it was from up in the rust belt) and was found to be solid . The Rims are in great shape and with clean up could be a 9 , which is pretty impressive for original rims! The tires still have tread left , but was going to replace as one of the last things I did. I did buy this car to play with, not fully restore. With a newer, higher horse power motor, this thing is fun. Handles like a 79 vette. I got this car and realized the brakes were shot. So, I went and got a new master cylinder , the hoses were replaced, new rotors, and rebuilt the calipers. also all new fluid ( of course) . This was the first of many things I was going to do to this car this year, with the intent to sell it in 3-5 when market came up, but then the property fell into my lap. I also replaced the exhaust manifold as it had a leak and put on a new gasket. As far as the engine goes, it starts and runs just fine. It is impressive and powerful , but could use a detail and may need some gaskets replaced as its been used for 10 years and has sat a few times for extended periods. Id really say the motor maybe has 10000 miles on it , but I have no way of knowing other than hear that from the guy I got it from who got it from someone else. The transmission shifts fine , I didn't change the fluid on it when I got it and Id say its due , but only because I don't know when it was done last. The rear end looks like it has a slow leak, but replacing the gasket when you replace the rear end fluid will take care of both problems. The locks on the doors need to be worked and the hood latch is frozen solid , but I started wd 40ing it this morning and should have it fixed by the time its sold. The headlights work and close as well. impressive! The interior is about a 6 out of 10 and needs to be cleaned with sections being replaced to be a driver, and totally replaced to be a restored example. I have other pics if youd like to see them. email me or call 386-675-3118 if you'd like. Also, here is an interesting issue I have with this car. After shipping and improvements Ive done, I have this money into it. I'm not at all interested in taking any less than what I am asking. not at all. Its a vette. Price is firm. When I bought this car, I was told that owner had title in hand. And he did, but it was not him on the title. No big deal, I had a bill of sale. So I took it to our local License office to get title transfered into my name. However, the VIN in the window was rusted away on the last few numbers. all the first 14 numbers matched, but the last numbers were gone. The lady couldn't find where the other vins were , exp since it didn't have an original engine in it . Ive since found out there are over 5 vin locations and I can have a specialist come out and find it for a fee, but I haven't gotten around to it. SO, you can either take the old title which has my name on it as a buyer with our bill of sale and bring it to a vin dept and get it sorted once you find one of the vin locations and get it verified, OR Verify the vin on one of the vin locations I can't find and apply for a lost title with our and/or bill of sale I also have , OR use this car for parts to finish another corvette that needs a lot of the parts I have on this one. Your choice. . Ive seen 79 vettes RESTORED go for 22000 +, hence why I bought it. Call me or Email me and Hopefully we can do business. NO DEADBEATS!! If you have less than 10 feedback, email me first to ok it. I WILL cancel your bid. I have listed this locally and reserve the right to close bidding early if sold locally .Ill help put the car on the trailer, but I don't ship. the higher bidder will have to set up his own shipping services. A lot of them out there. This car cost me 700.00 to come from New York to Daytona. But Ive seen higher and lower prices. I require 1000.00 within 24 hours of winning car. I need to make sure you are honest. It needs to be through paypal. Also, the rest can be through MO or certified check. The car can be shipped after clearing of funds with your bank. If you have a question , email me or give me a call. This needs TLC, but will make a great toy for someone who knows vettes. Reserve is what I have into it to the penny. Wish I could hold onto it longer, but moving a business onto a new property takes more money than most people can imagine. I know I was shocked. Thank you again and good luck!
