Up for auction is my 1965 Mercury Comet. It has a stock 289 with a 2 barrel car and a C-4 automatic transmission. Motor runs great and shifts well. Surprisingly, it has a 9 inch Ford rear end, don't know the gears but acceleration is excellent. I have not found any rust on the vehicle, other than surface rust in the trunk. I have not had the car on a lift to check the floors but spent a lot of time laying in a driveway feeling for rust or damage and found none. Like new wheels and tires, rides great! I have had the car since Dec., 2009 and its been quite popular at the cruise-ins and shows I've taken it to. The car had been recently painted when I got it and looks great. All systems work on the car, it seems to be in good mechanical shape. The exterior trim looks good but the interior trim has some pitting.
