Offered for auction: MGC 3000cc, 1969. This MGC used to be my daily driver, till she got nicked in the front by a pick-up in a parking lot. It took out the bonnet and the fenders. I replaced the fenders with new ones, and was fortunate to find a good original bonnet. Fortunately she was in neutral when hit, so the gearbox is fine. She has the 4 speed gearbox with optional overdrive, and comes with the 3.7 rear axle. The mileage has been lost over time The brake boosters came with the car, but were disconnected when she came into my life many years ago. It doesn't really make much of a difference, except for the leg muscle build-up. It does take a solid push with minimal pedal movement. The car has "Western" style rims, which can sometimes be found on VW beetles as well. The offset is not quite right (farther out), but makes the car more masculine. Another interesting side effect of the greater offset is the handling. The so called "notorious" understeer is replaced by oversteer. The tires are fairly modest, 165 cross section, but the effect on the handling is startling. I wonder, if anybody else has had the same experience? This car could be brought up to the standard of some of the beaustiful cars recently listed here on Ebay. I always intended to do so, but, alas, it was not to be. On May-24-11 at 09:23:52 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple of updates on this car seem to be in order. The engine runs well, and the brakes are fine. The rear axle is a 3.07, and not the 3.7 as specified. The car comes with a front bumper, which is straight and in good condition. The grille also comes with a new grille. The floorboard and trunk floor are solid, and so are the sills and doglegs. The top was badly split, so I removed it. The frame is correct type for the year, and is in good condition. This car has been sheltered in the barn in its dormancy. Hope some of this helps.
