Vehicle Detail
Offered for auction: MGB V8 roadster with Rover 3.5 ltr V8 conversion. This is without any doubt the car MG should have been allowed to build in quantity. The ease with which this car not only obtains speeds, but also maintains them, never ceases to amaze me. All this and better mileage, than a stock four cylinder MGB. This MGB is my primary driver. I work from home, so it is difficult to call this a daily driver as it is not on the road every day. Although well taken care of, this car is far from perfect. I am just not that type of person. I prefer driving over polishing. However, if you feel like bringing this car to a much higher standard then pleae do so. But a garage queen it is not. The specifications are as follows: Rover 3.5 ltr V8 with 285 degree medium lift cam, Weber/Edelbrock four barrel 1404 carburettor with K&N circular and top filter, T5 5-speed gearbox with 0.69 ratio overdrive top. Big brake conversion with four cylinder Willwood calipers and vented, slotted and drilled disks/rotors. Master brake cylinder has been upgraded one notch in diameter in order to compensate for the slightly larger fluid displacement of the four pot Willwoods. Lowered front, by 480 pound front springs, and rear by inch and a half lowering blocks, Front antisway upgraded to 7/8 inch, Rear antisway bar replaced with after market bar, in order to eliminate the inefficiencies of the stock rubber bumper antisway, Superlite 15x6 Minilite look alike rims with 205/55 tires. The car comes with a new convertible top still in the box. Although I drive this car with a hardtop in the winter, I wanted to delay installing the new top till summer. The car comes with a hardtop that needs paint, and not the one I have been using. The interior has received new panels, and seat covers. The dashboard has been replaced. The windshield is in good condition with no pitting. This car has been approximately 30,000 miles since the conversion. The current rear axle ratio is standard MGB, which makes the car blindingly quick off the line. However I have a 3.7 MGC rear axle available at no extra charge. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting me. I have been stung by buyers taking forever to pay, and need to insist on a quick financial turnaround time. There is no rush to ship the car after purchase. It can stay in my barn for up to two months free of charge. If you need longer, please just ask. Thank you for your interest.
