Vehicle Detail
New! Link added at bottom of description for 9 minute YouTube video going over car, including starting it & letting it run. This breaks my heart.. I hate to sell my baby, but I don't drive her like I used to and it is time for her to make someone else very happy. This car is an unrestored "survivor" and a very reliable car. Of course due to the age, will need some TLC along the way but is in outstanding condition. I have done many things over the 8 years that I have owned it, including replaced the starter, brought the gas heater back to its glory, replaced the emergency brake cable, fuel pump, ignition coil, points, and changed the generator to a much more reliable alternator. The body is in excellent condition except on the rear passenger door and one place on the front bumper. The front passenger door is solid but has some paint chips that go to the metal, but no rust. I took pictures to show these places. There is also a dent on the front drivers side under the bumper that you can see in the front side photo. I never remember its there so I forgot to take a close up of it. There is no rust in the trunk or the underside of the cabin. The paint on the car is as shown, not fantastic, but also not terrible. It is sun faded a bit on the top of the car, but the sides look good. I did not alter (photoshop) the pictures in any way to improve the look of the car's paint. The interior doors are a little rough, but are the originals. Armrests are solid and all door handles work, inside and out. The windows all roll up and down, but the front passenger handle does need a little grease, it is pretty stiff to turn. The seat covers are in excellent condition and were replaced right before I bought it with the correct fabric. Yes, the radio works. :) It has 78k original miles on it, and is in great running condition. It has been garage kept for the duration that I owned it. I bought in in 2003 and flew to Arizona to pick it up and drove it back to Illinois in a period of 48 hours. That is how reliable the car is and it is in better mechanical condition now. I moved to North Carolina and it has enjoyed the warmer weather here since. Of course there is no warranty implied because of its age. I will include the service manual that is very well done and invaluable in walking you through diagnosing and completing repairs. I will also include the Clark's catalogs where you can get any replacement part you might need. This vehicle is registered and has a clear title for the new owner. I am not willing to sell it for less than the starting price, so please don't ask. This is a great car and will turn heads and will give years of future enjoyment. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will be glad to answer them to the best of my ability. Oh I should say, the car does not leak oil, maybe a very occasional drip, but I pulled it out of the garage into the parking lot for pics and parked it in a spot with dried oil stains. Yes, that was dumb, but I didn't realize it until I was previewing them for listing. By the way, I live only 10 minutes from RDU (Raleigh Durham Airport) and would be glad to pick someone up there if they are looking to fly in and drive home. I have had a several people ask great questions, so I created this 9 minute video that will go into great detail to the condition as well as a cold start up. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/5yTjLLGh5qs Since the video I have done a tire rotation to match tires up for the smoothest and safest drive. Very smooth, even at highway speeds. I also got a complete oil change and lube. She seems to be running with a smile now. Seriously, I can tell the difference. :)
