Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1965 Chevelle Malibu Super Sport purchased new by my parents in San Franscisco, CA. The car has been in my posession since 1984. I have had a lot of fun with it but now I have to let it go to pursue another project. As can be seen by the photo's that are provided via photobucket this is a pretty straight SS but is a project car needing and deserving a full restoration. The title is clear and in my name and the car still retains it original black/yellow license plates (non-opped at DMV) , owners manual, Protect-O-Plate, and original sales docs. The car was originally equipped with a 283 2bbl and a 3 speed on the column with overdrive. The car retains it's orginal motor which was rebuild once and has approximately 2000 miles on it. The original 3 speed and OD unit were changed out in favor of converting it to a 4 speed Muncie pulled from a 68 GTO that was completely rebuilt prior to install. The rear end is a 4:11 12 bolt POSI and it too has been rebuilt but since developed a whine that a mechainc thinks may be due to the main bearing not being replaced. The 283 is now also equipped with Holley 600 CFM carb, an RV cam, high flow oil pump, and an MDS igintion. The original 2bbl carb, is still attached to the original manifold. It and the original air cleaner are included with the sale. The manifold that is on the car is a correct 1965 4bbl manifold. Also the original 3 speed OD transmission will be included in the sale if the buyer wants it at no extra cost. The car runs and drives great, handles well, and has new brakes, new balanced driveline, new tires in the back and decent tires on the front. The electrical needs some refurbishment since it is partially disassembled. There are no burnt wires or no known major electrical problems, everything just needs to be re connected and it needs a new turn signal switch that I never got around to buying. The body is straight except for the quarter panels. Bay area cars can be prone to rust due to salt in the air that's evident around the rear wheel cutout on the drivers side. The car took a slam on the passenger quarter which now has a new quater rivited in place but not yet welded perminantly in place. The floors and trunk are rock solid as is the rest of the car. All the interior and exterior trim that was on the car is included except for the original rocker mouldings, as well as, numerous reproduction parts ie weatherstipping, trim, window felts etc. Orignally the car was Cypress Green with a Fawn interior. I changed the interior to black and was planning to re-paint the car blue. The seats are in really good shape, it has new carpet. The original dash pad is crack free and was painted black when I changed the color. Also included is a new black headliner still in the box. Please note that everything will be stored in the trunk of the car and if the winning bidder is having the car trasnported needs to alert the transport company to this to avoid additional charges for hauling items with the car. Please click on the photobucket link I have provided that has approximately 70 pictures: http://s1117.photobucket.com/albums/k590/danielcraig6595/ Car is being sold AS IS/WHERE IS. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the car up for sale locally. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction. Payment in full is due within 5 days of end of autcion. Buyer is repsonsible for arranging transport if not picking the car up in person. If not familiar with working with transport company's I recommend www.123movers.com who will provide a list of trucking companies that bid for their jobs. This is a free service. Please feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer as quickly as possible. Thanks for Looking!
