Starfire The First Generation The Starfire name was first used by Oldsmobile in 1953 on a one-of-a--kind dream car that was shown at the 1953 Motorama Auto Show. Name after a Lockheed jet fighter plane, namely the F-94, the first generation 1961-66 and was loaded with standard equipment, including leather seats, center console with tachometer and floor shifter for the hydra-matic transmission and was the most expensive car in the Oldsmobile line in 1962. Interesting Facts: Starfire is a one of a kind "action hero" of the third part of Ivan Efremov's novel, "Razors Edge", released in 1963.
