So please read the listing!!!!!! ON THIS AUCTION THERE WILL NOT BE A BUY IT NOW DETAILS [TOP] 1966 Lincoln Continental suicide doors convertible. This beautiful 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible just came out of a private collection and has just a little over 52,400 original miles on it based on the odometer. Please keep in mind that it flips at 99999 and we do not have a way to prove that it did not flip. It comes to you in faded blue with a Black leather interior and a Black convertible top. This Continental has a power top, power windows including wing windows, power brakes/steering, power door locks, Town and Country A/M-F/M radio with power antenna and rear speaker, ice cold A/C, and the famous suicide doors. The vehicle is in running condition today. The engine was replaced a few years ago, and has sat for quite a while. We used a little starter fluid and the engine roared to life. The engine will need a tune up, and I would suggest that you flush the fuel tank to be safe. The battery is holding a good charge. The buttons in the car are not functioning today. The windshield wipers and the radio are in working order. The windows and seat controls are not working. The ac and heat both seem to work, but the ac vent blew out so much dust that I'm typing this blind. The driver seat sags, and the rear seat needs to be re-attached. The car needs a new home where it can get the needed attention that it deserves. Due to the fact that the car is not street legal (not registered or insured) we are not able to rad test it. The car was towed to us so we are not able to say how road worthy it is. We would NOT suggest that any drive it anywhere. PLEASE get it towed! The top could not be lowered because as you can see from the photos the hydraulics have all been disconnected in the truck, which also is how the trunk opens. If you look at the trunk you will see 2 C clamps...yes we thought that was odd too. Until we realized that it took 2 people to open the heavy trunk and you do it by holding the C clamps. The body of this car looks to be in great shape. It has been stored indoors for quite a long time which is how the car has held up so well. The soft top does have some holes in it, as seen by the tape on the roof. This car is in great shape and with a little love could be your new hot ride. How often can you find a classic car with such great bones. Cool car facts: In 1966 the Continental grew four inches, the turn signals returned to the bumper, and the tail lamps did not extend around the rear fenders. The Continental also had curved side glass in which the rear windows moved down slightly when the roof mechanism was engaged, and a new instrument panel. This is a beautiful car that needs very little except for a new owner to get it and give it a little love.
